Live Album Best Tracks

If one was to compile all the best (I guess in this case tracks that are on multiple LPs) tracks from all the live albums, how would it turn out? I think this is accurate as far as being on 2 or more live albums:

Jumpin' Jack Flash - Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!
Street Fighting Man - Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! (Licks and Stripped are great too)
Sympathy For The Devil - Love You Live
Honky Tonk Women - Love You Live
You Can't Always Get What You Want - Love You Live
Live With Me - Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!
Time Is On My Side - Still Life
Just My Imagination - Still Life
Under My Thumb - Still Life
Start Me Up - Flashpoint
Shattered - Shine A Light
Brown Sugar - Shine A Light (Licks is right there as well)
Satisfaction - Shine A Light
IORR - Love You Live
Paint It Black - Licks Live
Happy - Love You Live
The Last Time - No Security
Shine A Light - Stripped
Gimme Shelter - No Security

I think this would make a great compilation - not in this order but those songs. It's a bit piss poor on the latter part of their career but that's not my problem is it ha ha!!

Brussels Affair SFM and Brussels Affair Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo!
Yeah, it would be a great compilation, but it's better to order all the live CDs. They are must-have!

Although everyone has their favorites, I would add "Out of Control" from No Security. IMO, that track makes the album worthwhile. "Sympathy" from Ya Yas is better than the Love You Live version and if you're going to include Time Is On My Side, Just My Imagination, good tracks for sure, you can't forget about "She Was Hot" from Shine A Light or Live With Me from either Ya Yas or the version with BK playing sax on No Security.

If I were putting together a Live Stones playlist in iTunes, it might look like this:

When The Whip Comes Down (Sucking In The '70's)
Twenty-Flight Rock (Still Life)
Let It Rock (Rarities)
Bye Bye Johnny (Touring Party 1972)
Gimme Shelter (Brussels Affair)
Stray Cat Blues (Ya-Ya's)
Fingerprint File (Love You Live)
Black Limousine (Like A Rolling Stone single)
She Was Hot (SAL)
Not Fade Away (Stripped)
Let It Bleed (Hampton '81)
Champagne and Reefer (SAL)
Corinna (No Security)
Love In Vain (Handsome Girls)
Midnight Rambler (Brussels Affair)
Can't You Hear Me Knocking (Live Licks)
Can't Be Seen (Flashpoint)
Gimme Shelter (Saint Of Me Single)

I'm tired, I'm tired of doing what I'm told.
Things are moving way too slow.

But howabout as far as tracks that have appeared on more than one live album? That was kind of the idea I was getting at. I agree with the other songs being on a best of comp. I was just going for, ha ha, the best live album warhorses as they are, at least, on these live releases.

Sympathy from Ya-Yas is so great it's almost scary!

That's what's annoying sometimes. They could arrange and play SFTD like that NOW if they chose to.
The best bits aren't the fanciest or most technical playing !

I do prefer the version of Ya-Ya's. But I inlcuded Love You Live's version because it has all the lyrics. And it's a bit more rowdy and sloppy. Ya-Ya's version is just on fire. But they edited out a whole verse.

What's funny is lately Ronnie has been playing some of the same lines that he did that is on Love You Live, where as before (Steel Wheels through Bridges I think) he didn't.

great list skipstone, but I would have to put Ya ya's Sympathy way above Love you Live, and also would have no Choice but to throw Ya ya's Rambler on there

Gimme Shelter never from No Security, but from Stripped Wild Horses single!

I totally agree with the Ya-Ya's over Love You Live version of Sympathy. The only reason I put the LYL version was because of the full lyrics and partly because SFTD appears on 3 albums. So I was going for songs that appear more than once on a live album - of THOSE tunes, which one would you pick?

Of course, an ultimate live album comp is in the works for myself and you'd better believe SFTD and Rambler from Ya-Ya's will be on it. Hell, almost the entire album is.
