I know this is a lightweight topic but I was wondering why Keith is always Tan. Since about 1990 he always has a tan. We all know that he was once (well for along time) pale as white paper, if not some other color due to drugs.

Is he tan due to his liver? Is he in the sun that much? Has living in Jamaica permanantly cooked and weathered his skin ?

Please share your thoughts. Any Doctors out there who could shed light ?

when i saw him up close in philly he looked white as a gost....he didn't look tan at all...his skin is old shoe leather..ha..

He's the color of Jack Daniels on tour...

he goes to a tanning salon or more likely he has his own tanning bed.

Liver Problems ? It would seem not because the white part of his eyes are actually white. If he had liver problems I believe the whites of his eyes would be yellow.

One thing is certain, he is NOT the pale englishman he should be. Mick is pasty white, Charlie and Ronnie too. Is it possible that Keith has spent so much time in Jamaica that he has a type of "permenant tan". Is it baked in?

OK I will weigh in as an MD. I have not really noted that KR was tan...but the times I have seen him close up, especially in the last two tours, his skin looks incredibly sun damaged. Not the deep creases, but the small wrinkles everywhere and the sagging are usually the badge of to much sun. LOL saw Sean Connery twice several years ago in the Bahamas where he was living ...man they must put his make up on with a palette knife, his skin is just criss crossed with lines.

Doesn't really matter if he's tanned or not- his choice, i guess.

Any new isights worth adding to this thread which I guess concerns Keith's health / drinking / tan.
Could it be he uses a spray on tan.
Or look at the photos of George Best (before he died) - not a good colour

Oh for f*** sake !.
Keith's tan varies with the time of year and with his travels.
It gets topped up in the islands and fades when he's stuck in "good old blighty" ...or some other god forsaken wintery location !

When I was up close at the B Stage at Wembley Arena on the Licks Tour he looked grey. Not tanned but just grey like death warmed up.

I've never really noticed him being tanned, but I guess he is. He must just spend a lot of time in Jamaica (or wherevever it is he has a place) these days. Can't see a 60+ man using a taning salon and I'm pretty certain he's not an old Essex slapper.

He spends a lot of time in Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos. And he's from a family of French hugenots, (came to england from the Channel Islands), and the French get a tan more easily than the British. If you've seen a pink person on holiday in the southern hemisphere, or in a sunny country elsewhere, it's probably an Englishman... Not kidding.
Even his kids get a tan very easily, especially Angela and Marlon. His two blonde Viking daughters (Norwegian ancestors) don't have the same deep tan as their dad. But Patricia sometimes developes quite an exotic colour. Looking fantastic.
