New forum and news pages

There is a new IORR forum where you can read and talk about forum issues.
It is currently linked from the Help link on top of the forum pages,
via the "Talk about Talk" link. Or you can use this direct link:

[iorr.org]

Also, we are working on a brand new and much more advanced blog style NEWS system for IORR, with structure, cross references and options where news entries many be updated from any locations. A mockup i.e. pre-publication version may be seen here; don't worry about design, colors, fonts etc, they will all change:

So far I have been very conservative about what have been allowed into the IORR NEWS, in order to avoid "spam" i.e. over-information, too many news about not so important items. This new system may give the option to increase the news flow without spamming the biggest events.

Nice work BV. I like the look of the news system, it has an elegance befitting Stones fans of wealth and taste.smoking smiley

The news looks like a real newspaper. It's kindda BeggarsBanquetOnline-ish. I like it, but maybe some work on the colours is needed?

Now that's the American spirit BV. Freedom of information.

Now we can keep Helter informed of Hillary's presidental campaign. And Barack's demise.

Looks very nice!
Will you also add some web 2.0 features? So that we can "digg" the news and such things.
Would be nice!

web 2.0 - Sounds like that's the aim when I read keywords like "advanced blog style NEWS system" and "increase the news flow without spamming"

I agree, it looks very nice so far thumbs up

Yes it's nicely done. And thanks heaven for letting TellMe stay as it is.

FYI. I don't think I will make it possible to blog i.e. comment on the news pages. I don't want IORR to turn into Wikipedia, where people can rewrite history on a first come first serve basis. The new IORR News pages will be a lot more easy to search, navigate and read, and they will be connected to Tell Me, where you can have all the discussions you want about set lists and band members who can't play the guitar etc. One of the major advantages on the new system will be the live ability for me to update at any time from any place. I could be on the beach inj Bahamas or outside a Stones hotel or at a Stones show and update the IORR news. I have missed that option a lot - then it will be possible to do a live update on news, not just like a blog or a tell me comment, but a real news entry just as it happens.

BV,

I love the new changes and I am enjoying the green. I absolutely loved your comment to those freaking out about the changes, to the Stones setlists. That had me ROFLMAO! Keep up the great work, much appreciated.
