Billy Joel, July 16, 2008. You were expecting maybe Macca? Or the Stones?

They're tearing Shea Stadium down at the end of the 2008 baseball season, just in case anyone was wondering.

They won´t have to tear it down after Joel´s wild and foot stomping crowd are finished with it.

Wild and foot stomping? Only if they're demanding to get their money back.

I think that Santana would have been a better choice, given recent transactions.

After ANY event that the fans know is the stadium's very last - whether it's a ball game or a concert... after the show/game you WILL surely see the fans tearing the stadium to bits for souvenirs.

BTW, Did anyone post a picture of Shea Stadiums in the Venue Photothread?
(I love that thread!)

The site of the current stadium will be the parking lot for the new one. I wonder if anyone will bother to figure out exactly which parking spaces are on the spot where the Beatles played.
