on another thread our good cohort Sohoe has pointed out that in the book Keith Richards - Satisfaction
Christopher Sandford states that it was at one of the shows in France that Keith highjacked the cherrypicker
and played a 20-minute solo. it would be great to finally confirm or deny this charming story -
if IORRians who were at any of those shows could pipe up and say whether they recall anything like that,
that would be brilliant, please and thank you very kindly

(note: i was under the impression that this incident supposedly happened at Gothenburg,
and that it had been debunked by the Stones Vikings who were there and witnessed nothing of the sort.
so the report that it may have happened in France instead is really intriguing.)

If it's true, then it must have happened in Nice, as the other shows are available on bootleg and do not feature any 20 minute solo.

there was a incident with the Angels in France 82 ...not in Paris...anyone can tell me more info?

oh sorry - didn't mean to mystify anyone. the cherrypicker was that gizmo that Mick went up in the air in
at strategic moments in the 81/82 shows. Keith is reputed to have thought it was beyond absurd.
the rumour we're trying to investigate claims that Keith commandeered this gizmo at one of the 82 shows,
got the operator to take him up in the air and refused to come down for a hilariously long time.

Heard that too. I seem to remember Jagger would only give up the cherry picker if there would be no drugs backstage.
