Seriously. I really love that stuff. But, correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know of ONE psychedelic song being recorded since 1969? That SUCKS!

I say MORE psychedeia and MORE cowbell !

Seriously it mutated and transformed into progressive rock.
There was a psychidelic wave in mid-80s with bands like
The Church etc & light psych. influences in Eurytmics etc;
INXS, Triffids & some other bands rode upon that and there were a
new spring for garage bands... Similar things happened at some occasions
in the 90s as well... I think its in the latter wave(-s) TSOOL
should be viewed. I lurved a local band from ma town once called Magic Broom.
They were in their heydays around 1991-93. About the same time, a little earlier
we also had a more wellknown band called Shades Of Orange. Great too!!!

Skelter: "INXS, Triffids & some other bands rode upon that".

In various degrees & to various extent. INXS sported a Jimbo Morrison-ish
from the start.

i think psychedelic rock is dead.
but the psych sound evolved into certain elements of prog rock (ie- modern bands like tool carry a psychedelic feel)
and the later 90s was filled with psychedelic electronic music (ie- big beat, techno, trance, drum and bass, trip hop etc).

as long as there are drugs and people who play music, some element of the psychedelic sound will remain

Of all those mutations:

Pink Floyd
Yes
Genesis
Emerson Lake & Palmer
ELO
King Crimson
etc..

Only one is good enough for the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Pink Floyd.
