A dapper young fellow!

those squared ones i dislike.
This is the Gladstone Lang snare drum, 4x14, made by Arnie Lang. It is what is heard on Anybody Seen My Baby and Flip the Switch, also, that tour.
[www.langpercussion.com] The 4x14 was quite a departure from the 8x14 Pearl snare drum, wood, used on Voodoo Lounge. For years before then, Charlie used the Ludwig 6-1/2x14 metal snare (from Dirty Work on before switching at Voodoo); before that, the same drum in 5x14. The 5x14 was used on the "Classic" albums, although he did tour in 73 in Australia and Europe with a chrome over brass Gretsch snare 5x14. Charlie is currently using a 5x14 DW wood snare and has been for some time. For jazz, Charlie uses Gretsch, and recently, vintage Slingerland.
