May be of interest to Ronnie fans in Birmingham & the midlands.

Number 9 Gallery at Brindleyplace is hosting an exhibition of Ronnie's art to mark his 60th birthday. It runs until the 4th November.

I will be heading down there at the weekend to check it out.

Thanks for that i might also have a look this weekend. Went to the last one probaly a couple of years ago and tried to persuade the mrs to invest in one of his paintings but she was not intrested, i have the pleasure of telling her it could be a costly mistake in years to come.

Ventured down to the gallery on Saturday and Ronnie's work is very impressive.

Some of his Charlie portraits are excellent and I fell in love with a 40 Licks band on stage image. If only I had £5K spare cash lying around!

WHAT???
come on...he's a funny dude and a good guitarplayer. we love him for beeing in the stones. but his drawings and paintings are just horrible and quite tasteless. at least it has nothing to do with art. people pay ridicolous amounts of money for that crap, just because he plays with the stones.

now, really get serious: i'ts primary school drawing....
he plays in the stones and paints - very original - his tatatata:
bandmembers! i know there's other stuff, but it's just sad that he gets lots of money for his paintings and he has exibitions all over the world, and at the same time, really giftet people are starving.......

1) What do you know about art?

2) Regardless, it's a good investment.

1) i dont know if knowledge about art is that important to judge or understand art.
i was 10 years old when i first heard the stones and it touched me. and at the same age i could tell you that WHAM is shit. and i didnt know too much about music/history. but since you asked me: i finished artsschool.

2) maybe it is a good investment, but this part is completely unintersting to me. and ronnies "art" is just embarassing...

I'd much prefer a drawing from Keith or Charlie.

Certainly, though, I can understand that having one of Ronnie's uh pieces means a lot to people who admire him.

Surely all art is subjective and comes down to personal taste?

Ronnie's Jagger/Richards stuff is passable but his studies of Charlie are fascinating.
