Why Keith is playing bass on the song with Lennon?

Re: Rock'n'roll Circus Keith on Bass

Because Clapton & Lennon were on guitar?

Re: Rock'n'roll Circus Keith on Bass

because he sounded better on bass than Eric or John

Because Klause Vorman was not available

Shouldn't be Bill Wyman?

I think with Keith it makes it a bit more of a supergroup atmosphere.
The one I can't get over is Tony Iommi playing guitar for Jethro Tull in RnR Circus.

I think so. Somehow Keith elbowed Bill aside

Because he is a bass player, and Keith isn't.

Now I got it...lol.

Hey with sssoul, I guess English is your native language, right?

I think I've misunderstood the whole thing, since in my language the sentence;
<<Shouldn't be Bill Wyman?>> is the equivalent of saying 'Bill Wyman was supposed to play bass', but now I see it's not what StratoGR was asking, and my relply got a completely different meaning

What I didn't got here is what's up with Jivin Sister Fanny smiling smiley. Then I asked why is Keith on bass because of course it looks like a superstar group, but I think that there is some story behind this among Bill and Keith.

Why didn't George play Guitar?
Why didn't Ringo play drums?
Why, why why?

As far as Brian goes, he pretty much (with a few exceptions) stopped playing guitar by the time BB came out.

>> I didn't got here is what's up with Jivin Sister Fanny <<

okay, i'll turn it up louder in that case.

what i mean is ... why aren't you asking why Charlie or Ringo or Moonie weren't on drums,
or Brian or Pete or George on guitar? the answer is simply: that wasn't the line-up of the Dirty Mac.

seems to me you have to be overlooking quite a lot to say "Keith isn't a bass player" and/or to assume "foul play"
just because Bill wasn't asked to be part of a one-off performance by a handful of musicians
who shared some substances, got into a groove and felt like doing something together one time just for kicks.

They shouldve gotten John Entwistle to play bass, but he probably wouldve upstaged the other musicians (tongue in cheek).

as for bill not playing bass , he is a second class stone thats why, if he were first class he would have been on bass

2nd class, really! Listen to the real early stuff when the others including Keith couldn't play yet, like early to mid 1964. Bill was outshining everyone to those old Rock and Roll covers.

An awsome performance and Keith was at the height of his coolness

Bill says in Stone Alone that Keith's ego demanded that Keith play bass.

But yes, there were numerous bass players on set, why the assumption that it should be Bill?

well ... Bill feeling miffed at not being asked is not unusual (shall we say).

does Bill go into much detail about his role in setting up the Rock & Roll Circus, HM?
and/or the circumstances that led to the formation of the Dirty Mac?

I'm with His Majesty. It wasn't a Stones performance after all.

Dirt Mac was Lennon's band.....correct?

Maybe Lennon decided who was to play bass?
