Being only 21, I've kind of missed out on when all the cool merchandise came out, but I have to say that what I like is very simple:

My records.

I own Flowers, Satanic, Beggars, Through the Past, Darkly, Let It Bleed, Ya-Ya's, Sticky, Exile, More Hot Rocks, Goats Head, IORR, Some Girls, Tattoo You, and Bigger Bang on vinyl.

They're all originals, and all in superb condition which just makes me happy.

I plan on passing these down to my children, and hopefully they'll still be in good enough shape that their children can listen to them too.

Like Keith says - "He passed it on..."

Have to agree with Rockman, the music is what keeps me going. I have some cool records, books and all that, I guess my TOTA 75 book is something I cherish but the music is what gets me each time... and I keep finding more shows and so on that impress me..

For example, just came across this clip on youtube and can't stop listening to it, listen to the sound on Keith's guitar...

This here....some 3,000 Stones records, 3,000 cassette tapes, and now the cds...so, I might as well say ALL of it.

My most valuable items moneywise according to Dieter Hoffmann are early original records like the Little Red Rooster single or High Tide lp which I "inherited" from my elder brother and sister. But I regard two other things as my favourites: One is the official (licensed by EMI) cassette of Still Life from South Corea which had been "Approved by the K.E.C.P.P. Ministry of Culture and Information". (It's a present of my brother who was then in Seoul). The Ministry of "Culture" knows what's worthwhile listening to because there's no "information" in it - or am I totally wrong...?!: They dropped Jimi's version of "Star Spangled Banner". They dropped "Let's Spend the Night Together". And they cut out all lines in Shattered that contain the word "sex"...
The second one is a personal drawing Sebastian Krüger with a Keith head and the word "für Mick" (yes, I was christened under the name of Michael and nicknamed Mick in school). I interviewed him im 1992 at Frankfurt book fair and handed him his Stones picture book and while answering to me he started drawing into it. I was so puzzled by the result that I forgot to tell him that that day was my birthday!

Dont need it, as It doesnt have any extra music on it that I dont already have...
heheheh...

My poster collection is pretty nice too, although I traded some early 60s ones for rare records. I used to have Hippodrome, Brighton, 64 (its in the upper left corner of the last photo...5 floating heads poster, used for the original German pic sleeves) and a couple of US 65 ones....but, I got a LOT of demos for them...plus a US Beast sleeve, etc.

Keep on rockin'...

Satisfaction...I heard it in June 65, that was it..I collected heavily into the late 70s, then sold it all off to pay for Grad school. Then started collecting HEAVILY again in 1988...still at it. I have had some of the heaviest collectors in the world here, and they were even impressed. I used to have over 800 bootleg vinyls in my collection, but sold them in order to get the last of the official stuff I needed, like the US SFM sleeve, and US stock copy of Stoned (only 5 known copies exist)....I just love the old records. The sound SO good. And I DO play them occasionally....I am just a Stones vinyl junkie...

Thats an old price. I just sold a spare copy (only VG condition) for $16,000 US...but with the current US exchange rate, 5,000 UK pounds sterling or Euro, thats probably about right.

I used too, but sold it. I only collect (mainly-with a few exceptions--Like the Spanish Sticky Fingers---only way to get the Stereo Live Let It Rock) US and UK. I used to have all kind of Swiss Fan Club Records, etc. Long gone, those.

Best,

JR

Thanks for the kind words, Erik...

LOL, not at all ! If I had the time and resources, I'd do the same.
I see your 1st photo is titled "northwall" - so there's more of them ? Oh boy..

As for me, I don't have any collection that's worth mentioning. A couple of hundreds bootlegs.... TOTA 75 book is the most I've ever put into 1 Stones item.
Things like acetates and rare 7" are out of reach for me.

Thanks, Erik....yeah, south east and West (see attached)..., also exist....But for, for most people, but the sound of the old acetates, is unbelievable...its sort of like a one time ritual....as you only have one shot to get the recording right.....Luckily, I spent about a US $1000 on my Needle and Cartridge, so its about as good as it can get as far as damaging the acetates. but believe me, I dont answer the phone when I am making these recordings....

Ah, the MONO Let IT Bleed Acetate....double WOOF...

Keep on rockin',
