Keith's sound on Satisfaction on the B2B TOUR!!!! etc.

Apart from the original version, the version on the B2B Tour 1997/1998 is in my humble opinion the best version of Satisfaction ever!!! That GUITAR INTRO IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!! Which amp did Keith use? The Twin I guess.... but that overdrive sound ain't the Twin, is it? Did Keith use another amp or some effectpedal?

Other questions...:

- Has Keith ever used Soldano amps???
- Which amp/stompbox did Keith use on Gimme SHelter during the B2B tour?
- Does a Fender Vibroverb or a Fender Twin Reverb (both current reissues) come close to Keith's sound on the B2B tour???

He used a SLO100 at the '89 Steel Wheels tour, replaced it for a Plexi halfway.

Twin and tremelo.

No, not at all. Keith's signature sound since '90 is a Tweed Twin. You need to go tweed to come close. If you're not playing enormadomes, a Tweed Deluxe (5e3) with either 6V6 or 6L6 comes closest.

You can also get passably close through a modern Fender Deluxe [HRD or Blues] with the right choice of tubes. Vintage voiced old school type pickups that aren't too hot will also help. Your ears are the most important tool to get good tone from any rig ;^)

Does this one come close to a Tweed Twin:
[www.fender.com] ???

I went to a guitarstore in Boekel (Netherlands, Brabant) the other day, and the guy over there said that Soldano Amps are the best amps there are (especially to record with), because they won't interfere with the frequences of another instrument; they've understood the art of eliminating very well. Is this right???

Keith's guitar sound on the 69 Satisfaction is my favorite. For my tastes, nothing even comes close.

B2B and Voodoo Lounge were both good sounds. As much as I love contemporary Stones, I wasn't a fan of either the Licks Tour or ABB Tour sound of this song.

Hi everybody

I like The Ampeg era sounds as well as the 81-82 Mesa-Boogie tones.
