A good read, but seems less memorable to me than the Stanley Booth book about the 1969 tour--usually published as "The True Adventures of The Rolling Stones."

+1 ... but Stanley's book is focussed on the 60s; if it's the 70s you're after,
Chet Flippo's On the Road With the Rolling Stones is (to my mind) better written and more interesting than STP.
Flippo starts with 75, though; if it's specifically 72 you're looking for, STP "wins" almost by default.
it's more about the general ambience of the tour and the hangers-on than it is about the band or the music
which Greenfiel doesn't seem to have had much access to or affinity for, but ... it's not a bad book.

I really enjoyed it. I wanted to find out more about The Stones during the early 70s and I sure did.

I'd like to say thank you with sssoul, I didn't know about Chet Flippo's On the Road book. I found it on ebay and bought it straight away.
