Imitation is flattery. Look at all of the artists who have mimicked Elvis Presley's first album, the Beatles' debut, the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds and various Stones album covers (Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main Street and Some Girls). I don't think that the Rock 'n' Roll Circus artwork has become iconic along those lines . . . but I guess it has, at least in the Dresden Dolls' eyes.
