The very talented Comedic Actor OWEN WILSON - "WEDDING CRASHERS", "STARSKY & HUTCH", "MEET THE PARENTS" - Attempted Suicide Sunday and has been in the Hospital ever since. Very little info is coming out but apparently he was found passed out on the floor of his Santa Monica house with a slashed wrist and was full of unspecified tranqulizers. He had recently broken up with Kate Hudson who is the ex-wife of BLACK CROWES Lead Singer CHRIS ROBINSON. It was also reported that WILSON has struggled for many years with Cocaine and Heroin addiction. Let's hope everyhing goes well for this super funny dude... He's made me laugh hundreds of times ever since he almost stole the show in MEET THE PARENTS (as the ex boy friend who builds the wedding gazibo that eventually catches fire) and also was too funny as the star of WEDDING CRASHERS.....sad news indeed - you NEVER know.....

Sad news - I like him in those movies with Jackie Chan too.

Damn, it seems like he's got it all - money, babes, looks. etc. - as Helter said, you never know.

He probably thought that London III was the last Stones show and didn't know that The Stones will tour next year.
Sad for this guy though.

I was very sad to hear about this too. Mental instability is quite common in comedians. He is indeed very talented, and I hope he gets the help he needs.

If you think those were funny movies, dig up his film debut Bottlerocket where he starred as the incomparable Dignan.

Wes Anderson's first movie that featured both Wilson brothers and a chase scene with 2000 Man as the background music!

Has Wes Anderson's admiration for '60s Stones music been discussed on this
forum? I think he's used Stones music in almost all of his films....i
don't think he used any in the "Life Aquatic" movie.

Thanks for mentioning the other films, some I did not know about but I did see ZOOLANDER, that one was great. The thing about OWEN is you just didn't see this dark side in the guy. He seemed to be pretty up and happy when ever I caught an interview or something but like Cindy said, most, if not all, comedians seem to have pretty unstable (or depressed) personalities, from LENNY BRUCE to JOHN BELUSHI, I think most use comedy as a way of dealing with all the crap in life.... Still, I TOTALLY missed it in OWEN WILSON... but like I said before, YOU JUST NEVER KNOW... hope he comes out alright, seems like one of the good guys out there....

I liked him in Behind Enemy Lines too. I don't think that the role required much "heavy lifting" other than him having to be in good physical shape because he spent a lot of time running, but he was very believable in it.

Officially Farley's death was due to overdose......but many
overdoses could be "suicides". Depression...church...hookers....overdose.

Freddie Prinze also comes to mind. A guy that should have the world on a string but ends up shooting himself.

Owen Wilson is one of my favorite actors.

Courtney Love loves attention, doesn't she? She's got a new album out soon, so she'll do anything for publicity.

How is this Coogan's fault? Owen Wilson is 38 years old. He knows that drugs are bad for you. He knows that razor blades applied forcefully to wrists will result in life-threatening injuries.
