wear earplugs at they're gigs.

and when Lemmy says, 'we're Motorhead, and we play rock and roll'

say to yourself 'no you don't ... you play rock'

Oh Adrian, early Motorhead sure sounds like Rock N Roll to me.

Might attempt the gig at NEC later in the year, Joan Jett, Motohead and Alice Copper?

Blimey, I'll be wearing all in one denim soon!

Saw a gig on the 1st Motorhead tour (just after the release of the Motorhead 12" single), it was as raw as raw as raw.....gave Iggy a real run for his money.

I Went to the first ever Motorhead gig at the London Roundhose back in 1975 the ticket price was 90p!

I get an uncontrollable urge to holler and break things when listening to:

Ace of Spades
Dead Men Tell No Tales
Killed By Death
God Save The Queen

.... And others but I am becoming too aggressive to think clearly just writng the names.

BTW: I thought it was pretty cool when Keith came out as a big Motorhead fan earlier this year in his rant about the current music scene.

I'm tired, I'm tired of doing what I'm told.
Things are moving way too slow.

You can't go wrong with any and all albums featuring the classic line up. After that, Orgasmatron is a must have, as is the double live Everything Louder Than Everything Else.

We want to be the kind of band that if we moved next door to you, your lawn would die. --Lemmy

ACE OF SPADES is the best RR album ever made. Rush on it

'older than a rolling stone" from 1916 Motorhead album

Actually, this was the interview, where he claimed to have sniffed his father.

When asked, the journalist only retracted one information from the interview - that Keef should have mentioned Motörhead.

Keef had instead talked about Mozart - somewhat different but in line with what Keef has been saying in other interviews about coming late to classical music but now getting his daily dosis from Mozart and Beethoven. ;-)

Manchester Apollo,2002...still the loudest thing I've ever heard!

First gig I ever saw was Motorhead at the Glasgow Apollo, June 83, when I was 11. I could not hear A THING for a week after. I swear I thought I would be "Deaf forever"!. Met them after the show which was cool. Have seen em several times since, and will be at the Glasgow SECC later in the year for the gig with the Coop.
Back at the 83 gig, the support band was a dodgy metal outfit called Anvil. Their guitarist - Lips he called himself - played the guitar with a dildo. I remember my brother saying to me: "is that a plastic willie?". Hey we were young!!
In terms of Motorhead recorded output, its a cliche but you really can't top Ace of Spades tho' they have loads of great (if similar) albums out there.

I was a big fan back in high school, early 80's. Had a Motorhead patch on the back of my jean jacket.
I saw Motorhead in Vancouver in March of 1982. Fast Eddie had just quit the band a week or so prior after a disagreement in Toronto. Brian Robertson was the new guitarist. They did an autograph session in a local record store the day of the show. No one knew who the red headed guy was (Robertson) and everyone was wondering where Fast Eddie was.
Their stage show was the same as the cover of No Sleep til Hammersmith and the concert was loud. I remember they played Muddy Water's Hoochie Koochie Man. Krokus, a Swiss band that sounded like AC/DC and Fist, a Toronto band were the two opening acts.
Favorite album is Ace of Spades and favorite song off that album is the title track as well as Chase is Better than the Catch.

I saw them last year.
To me Motorhead is the only band apart from the Stones whose leader is over 60 and they still kick asses. Pure energy.

Well, you've overlooked Iggy, haven't you? He's 60 and still a killer on stage!

Keith likes 'em. He said he listens to them in the famous "I snorted my father" NME interview

I haven't seen Iggy since he turned 60 so I can't claim. But I bet he is.

No Remorse from 1984 is a great compilation if you don´t have any of the earlier albums. I have the vinyl version with a leather sleeve and it smells wonderful still today...
