norman, I once thought I would write a book about my concert experiences....I keep getting too stoned to write, though......I have shared stories on this forum already about some Zepellin, The Who, Rod Stewart and Faces shows...oh yeah also some Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Stones, Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, Leon Russell, Allman Brothers, early Elton John shows....just to name a few......

Concert diary....
I remember a concert my band held, we rented a concerthall and invited 3 other bands to play as well - several years ago in small town, and only 1 (one!) person showed up to listen - she demanded a refund when she saw there was nobody else inside - and eventually we gave her back the money.
It was just as well I suppose, as one of the amps blew up after 30 minutes.
Things went better the next time though

We stopped playing 3-4 years ago, unfortunately. Some covers and some selfwritten - did a cover of Where The Boys Go among others
Wonder why that song has never been performed live? It's made for a live performance

yeah, your probably the only ones that did it. thats cool when you can find a gem like that... something that could and should be popular but for some reason isnt.

Thanks Lukester!
A book may be tough. short bits to start may be the way to get something going, just thoughts and ideas when you get inspired.
Thought about writing something myself; Just not really driven to do it yet.

Lukester has some great stories - the bottle rocket one among others.

He sometimes has "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" memory though.

"No Anchovies, Please"

....this is hilarious, Erik, and yet kind of sad......I mean, I can picture that lady persisting to get her refund while you and your band mates keep ignoring her.....did you eventually hold a band meeting to decide whether to refund the money or not? ....was there one guy in the band who kept insisting to hold out on the refund, hoping that eventually she would just give up?.....

The guy in charge of security insisted on not letting her go. But us in the band felt bad for her and gave her the the money, lol

I made a big framed poster of ticket stubs. Used all my favourites. It hangs in my house & looks fantastic. Dates range from '77-'06. It's just like a diary. When I look at it I recall old friends & family & girlfreinds & road trips & parties & shows etc, etc...even the night I lost my viginity is there. It's one of my most prized possessions indeed.

...hey thumbprint I've got the same thing...ticket stubs from as early as 1974 taped to a big Santana poster....mine's not framed........like Ray Bradbury's "Illustrated Man"'s tattoos, each of my ticket stubs tells a story.....great stories....

There are at least 3 things to choose from every single night in LA. I just decide the day of if I feel like going then just go. No tickets, no service charges or anything like that most of the time.

The Police were okay for $22.50 and I enjoyed myself, especially the guy behind me yelling "Sing It Right." But to me seeing people upset because they aren't getting what they think they paid for is another form of entertainment. I wouldn't recommend paying $100-250 though.

Last night was the Rock N Roll Gig Of The Century

The Humpers/Throw Rag/The Hangmen/Pat Todd & The Rank Outsiders

Still recovering. I will probably write a proper review and put it on the blog.

Maybe it's because it would be better with Ronnie singing lead, and we know that'll never happen! Where The Boys Go is a recently discovered treasure for me.

With Ronnie singing lead, WMiller? Gee - I never thought about Ronnie singing on that one. Good for you that you got around to side B of Emotional Rescue - it's hell of a rocker

Ah thanks, allthough "great" should be replaced with "sad"
