Reshot carpet- listened to the track and trying to pick out the Honky Tonk Women riff and I just don’t hear it.

The guitar riff right before the chorus is in open G, a double stop played on the G and D string with the high D string ringing open. Keith uses that (without the D string) on Honky Tonk, and basically copied it (with a different timing) for the intro of Tumbling Dice.

If you take Downtown Suzie and the slide part of Sister Morphine you can find just about every lick in open G used the next 40 years by Richards.

One of my early favorites. Has a great feel and SOUND to it.

Has to be Wyman's best song...with JJF ;-)

Rene starts post in January of 2010,
Redhotcarpet , makes last post June 2011
Nevermakeasaintofme, restarts it 7 1/2 years later.

Strikes me funny when someone goes into the way back machine and injects new life into these old threads.

I’ve always liked this song and have always put it in the Country category even though it might be technically something else.
