Inaugural Post - What the poor boy did

See 'Inaugural Post' post.

I've shared Oslo but that's another story.

Recap : HTW coming to an end; one more song and the boys will be with us on the B-Stage - a moment of a lifetime coming up; wife faints and is passed over the barrier to a security guard. What to do - do I stay or do I go?

After a momentary hesitation and thoughts of 'this canNOT be happening'; I asked the security guard if I could follow E??en to wherever they were taking her. Permission was granted.

I was helped over the barrier and passed from security guard to security guard. Round the B-Stage; down the side of the catwalk; at the end I passed guitar cases going in the other direction. This canNOT be happening.

Held tightly by security guards round the front of the stage; Satisfaction was well underway and the fireworks were going off next to me. This IS happening; a lifetime moment gone but, hey, sh** happens. I wanted to tell the guys - keith was closest, I hadn't done anything wrong Keith. Honest.

They let go when I arrived at the first aid station. A delightful grey haired woman had E??en in hand; good old smelling salts under the nose and consciousness returns. E??en tries to move away from the smell and sees me. And what did she say? What words of gratitude awaited me? What recognition of the sacrifice made? Her first words were ...

"What the hell are you doing here?"

Man. I was speechless. The first aid woman confirmed she would be OK and I headed back. And boy was I determined. With no security guard escort back, I just barged my way to get close to where I'd been. I annoyed lots of folk but hell, I had credit for my good deed and I used that up.

My memory of the B-Stage performance was Bobby sneaking up during Brown Sugar and arriving just in time to blow. It is all these little things that you remember.

Caught up with E??en at the end. She managed to get back - completely recovered. We laughed.

And I'll be at O2(Sun) - on my own - nowhere near the B-Stage - done that, did it again in Glasgow last year - got the T-Shirt!
