I thought I was going to start a little project, doing a not yet decided Stonesalbum into a 5.1 DTS CD. Because the ones I got impresses the hell out of me, and i want more.
But as I browse the net, I´m not getting any wiser. Does anyone here know anything about this process? Is it hard to do, what software does one need?

I have a Sony cd/sacd/dvd player...and have many multi-channel SACDs.

I downloaded one of those 5.1 DTS Stones recordings (SF)....it's been
sitting on my harddrive. Any tricks or anything special i need to
do to make it playable on my Sony 5.1 system? I assume I'll need to
burn it to a dvd.

Please be detailed....

Neo, you just need to burn it to a CD, not DVD, put it in your player and then you´ll discover a whole new world. Just like burning a regular music-CD.

it is really really with DTS encoder software. You create the mono channels and you make a final file with all.

i tryed to do fake stereo,,,´the classical...bass cut,,on one channel.

by the way i turned off my 5.1 sound ,during listen to cd...
