Stones tour 2011/2012
Posted by: stonethobo ()

As Charlie told some fans in Ischl there will be no Stones tour this year. They will tour 2011/2012. I hope they will take some time to record a very good album this year.

Did he say it to you or are those fans people who are otherwise described as "friends" or "persons close to the band"?

Charlie was asked by fans in front of the hotel and after the gig and he always gave the same answer: 2011/2012. This info comes not only from one fan in Austria, but from several individual sources.

I also heard the news in Bad Ischl yesterday. It seems Charlie said it to a certain person and a few friends told it many others.

Nobody knows anything at the moment. In 2007 there was an asia tour roumored for 2008, which was later "postponed" to 2009. For some time a 2010 tour seemed probable, and the speculations are going on.

2011/2012 keith will be 4-5 years older than when he last performed disastrously in 2007.

i can´t really imagine how this is going to be any good.

I dont think that there will be another "ROLLING STONES"-Tour at all. keith and ron are not able to do. Mick will do some solo-stuff--and charlie is satisfied with his "Boogie woogie"--and "Wild horses"

They had some good shows 2007, for example Hamburg. Maybe 2011/2012 won´t be an improvement. But if they at least hold up that standard we can be proud of our band after 50 years on stage...

I´m hoping for a real good comeback album 2011 and a sold out tour. They toured so much the last ten years, maybe this year would have been too soon...

Ronnie with the Faces and a rotating cast of characters would be more fun than the Stones a couple of years from now.

Jones
MacLagan
Wood
Bass Player
Hucknall

Get in there Ronnie doo yor doooty

i would say it was good, not great. i didn´t think too bad about keith by that time.

the change to me clearly came after the fall in 2007. since then he is very different to me and plays a lot worse.

i really wonder why charlie is on tour. doesn´t he hate touring. why is he touring last year and this year if he knows he has to tour again in 2011 and 2012.

how so??

Then there is lots a time for medical treatment. He has stopped drinking and then he will be ok.

When he plays with the "ABC&D of Boogie Woogie", it's a week's worth of shows. When they play in England, he'll go home after each gig. Not really comparable to a Rolling Stones world tour.

they will not be able to treat it if they haven´t done it yet!
he had a brain injury, at least that´s what they said.
what doesn´t come back within 6-12 months is never going to come back regarding brain perforance. treatments in this case are anyway very limited. so forget that!

he stopped drinking?? how could he ever achieve that. forget it.
and why, why now. no reason to stop now unless he is in real bad health conditions and has no graving, which would be a rather bad than a good sign.

I can well believe this is precisely what the Stones are gonna do, 2011/2012. And THAT, dear people, IF they do indeed do it, is quite likely gonna be IT .... !!

And what a magnificent 50 year run they'll have had.

YES!!!!! If Charlie says it, it's got to be true.In 2011, they'll be a lit'le bit older but rested and hopefully in a kick ass mood to tackle that tour.

I believe Charlie, what he says has got to be true! The 2011/12 tour will probably be the last of the grand tours for the Stones. So I'll be there to see them no matter what condition they are in! Who cares if they are old and past their prime, many of us are right there with them in age!

Ok,if they can't pull it together for a tour in 2010 I certainly don't think they are holding out any sentiments to wait for 2011/2012 for a 50 year annvy tour. If they were physically capable of going on tour this year. I believe they would have.
They know full well the next tour will be their last. They have never been able to anything on a small scale. Their will not be a series of small Stones tours to follow the next one. They will do one more mega tour and that will be it. That's the only way they know how to operate. Unfortunately it's a big IF,as to whether they can pull it together for one more mega tour.

I think he does not like those gigantic tours where you go from stadium to stadium and play along to loops. I don't know him personally but I guess he wants to play the music he likes in front of a small responding audience with other expectations than the warhorse-plus show. After all, musicians are only human and it can wear you off playing standardized megashows to anonymous masses. I will not go to see him but I think it is great that he proves to be a passionate musicians after all these years.

i rather think this whole "i don´t really like rock&roll and i don´t like touring and be away from home" is more image and myth than true.

Great sentiment. And I do hope they really do stop then.

Sadly, I think you're right. One last mega tour, with a stage that's bigger than U2's, and that will be the last "hurrah".

Charlie says "no tour in 2010, but 2011/12"

Charlie being interviewed backstage in bad ischl:

Watts: „Stones-Tour 2011/12“
