With so much negative stuff going on all the time it's hard sometimes to remember that there's also positive things going on. With that said, be it music/Stones related or not, what are you looking foward to in the near or semi near future. Here's my list:
1. SHINE A LIGHT movie, hope it's as good as the BIGGEST BANG box set
2. The New BOEING 787 DREAMLINER wide body jet.Suppose to roll out 5/08. Test flights start in a few months. They showed this on the news the other day and it looks FANTASTIC - very JETSONS. Uses 20% less fuel, Cabin Air will have about 20 - 25 % more moisture in it, Cabin Air pressure will "feel" about 2,000 feet lower (this may help out a lot with jet lag) Also am looking forward to the 2 floor, all the way back, AIRBUS Jumbo (can't recall the name). This will be the biggest commercial plane in history. Carry far more people than a 747....
3. The Updated, Remixed BEATLES CD's. If they sound anything like LOVE or the reissued YELLOW SUBMARINE they will really be impressive. Wish the early Stones cat. got this treatment once and for all.
4. The DVD of David Lynch's latest film, INLAND EMPIRE. Wasn't able to catch it at the theater so will catch it on DVD. Friends say it's a good one....
5. Looking forward to the world settling down and the US Dollar getting stronger
BONUS: Having the brilliant Wim Wender film, UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD (long Version) show up on DVD properly the way the rest of his work has....still waiting.....waiting since whenever DVD's came out.....
So put your list here, can be anything, personal stuff, music stuff, concerts, artistic stuff, technical stuff, trips you're taking, new electronics/computers/ whatever coming out.... (JUST NO POLITICAL FIGHTING !!!! SERIOUSLY, DON'T GET INTO SPECIFIC POLITICAL STUFF it doesn't work so DON'T START - please) OK, jump in with your list, don't be shy......

Yeah, I think those are gonna be special shows... if I get to Europe in time that's what I'd go to... Hope they put a DVD together (that's asking for a lot - another DVD, oh well, maybe, or a Pay Per View)....
2 good songs Doc - SWAY and THE LAST TIME. Hope they also do SHE WAS HOT, CAN'T YOU HEAR ME KNOCKING and AS TEARS GO BY (have they totally dropped that one on this European leg?) MONKEY MAN and IF YOU CAN'T ROCK ME are also favs of mine...
Either going to the family homestead this weekend and soaking up the air conditioning or perhaps some free gigs. I will make up my mind Friday or when I get around to looking at the gig calender.
Tegan And Sara live at Amoeba Music and the new CD.
In September - Rammstein domestic DVD release, Ramones DVD and Hanoi Rocks new CD which I will have to buy on import. I think something else is coming out that month but I can't remember what.
I am almost positive there will be some more Hangmen and Hitchhikers gigs at some point this year.
thats interesting stuf fabout the 787 Helter. Thats good about the fuel saving aspcets and air pressure. but to me it doesnt matter if a plane Is bigger. Its not like your going to have more room, they'll just put more seats in and pack people in like sardenes!
I prefer taking my leer jet,

SUMMER finally arriving in the UK - which as yet it has NOT inspite of it being the second week of July, and then visiting the O2 four times in a week in August ... three times for the Stones and once for Prince.

I'm hoping the Beatles catalog is only remastered and not remixed. The original Parlophone LPs sound fantastic on vinyl and all I want from the new cds are for them to sound as close as possible to those LPs. A bonus would be to give us the stereo and mono mixes together in the same package.
The dvd of Inland Empire out in August will include in its bonus features around 75 minutes of additional scenes. If you live in Southern California, the film will be screened at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica from July 19-22 with a special guest doing a q & a each night. I met David Lynch last month and asked if he would be there for any of the nights and he said he would not, but that Laura Dern most likely will.
I had the good fortune of seeing the 5 hour version of Until The End Of The World about 6 years ago and I really enjoyed it. I had seen the original US edited version of it back in 1991 and didn't really get into it, but the full length version was great to see. This version is out on dvd in Europe. I believe the UK release was a few months ago. Supposedly no US dvd release will happen.
