Chuck is touring Europe in September-see his web site. I presume that means no Stones gigs in Israel, Dubai or Yemen that month

Did Chuck ever do a solo tour? NO. What does it mean? To me it means he has to care on his own for the future (though I'm sure he would cancel his solo tour imediatly if the boys will move on for some additional stops).

He sure had some solo gigs already.

Yeah, Chuck has played some solo shows - I went to one in Hawkinsville, GA a couple of years ago. He's also played in Macon.

His show the night we went featured songs from all through his career. The Stones songs were HTW, TD, "Rip This Joint" and Route 66 (!). A great "Statesboro Blues" and even greater "Jessica" were highlights too.

Right, and no gigs in Afghanistan or Iraq either.

the fact that he's just confirmed these shows should be indication enough that 'some additional stops' ARENT going to happen. If they were going to, they'd have been aware of such plans weeks or months ago, long before anything was announced publicly.

I believe his set with the Randall Bramblett Band was rained out this year.

There was a downpour in the middle of the day he was supposed to play and his set, and many others on the outddor stages, got cancelled (or dramatically shortened) as there was no way for them to have the schedule go later.

I was dry in the Gospel tent seeing the amazing Coolie Family.

I did get to see Tony Joe White (Polk Salad Annie) and ZZ Top later that afternoon though. :-)

Here's the Jazz Fest writeup from his blog:

So we all headed to the grounds of the Jazz Fest, to the “Acura Stage”, one of the main stages…where we were to perform. But just as we arrived, it began to rain. And rain…and rain some more. HARD rain…as a matter of fact, it rained some 5 inches over the next two hours, causing some flash flooding! We were delayed…and for a while it looked like we wouldn’t get to play at all. But finally we were called to the stage and told we had about 20 minutes to play. But play we did, and while it was a bit bizarre (the flash flooding caused a sort of “instant pond” right in front of the stage…and some people were standing in waist high water), it went quite well…and we were given a very warm and enthusiast reception. We wound up playing just four songs…“In The Night” by Professor Longhair (I wanted to salute the heritage and influence of that New Orleans icon), “Route 66”, “Tumbling Dice” and “Compared To What”.
There was a bit of rain still happening during our set, but at that point it was mostly a drizzle. It amazed me that the fans had waited through the incredible downpour, tolerating some very challenging circumstance….but they did, and we were all very grateful.
