Rockman, I would say that bridge by the Sydney Opera House or if that would be in bad taste maybe Ayer's Rock..... what do you think about those 2 choices?

Well, they've been fairly nice to look at when they 1st came out in the mid-90s. Why the boring "Wannabe" became their first and biggest hit is somewhat beyond me, but they were seen as the female answer to the English boy group "Take That" at the time, so this should explain such mysteries.

Levon Helm's 90s version of The Band had covered "Free Your Mind", originally by nu-soul divas En Vogue on their 1996 album "High On the Hog", and I thought that the Spice Girls' song "Say You'll Be There" would also be very well suited to the voices of Helm, Rick Danko and Randy Ciarlante, but they probably never heard the song.

Later, when the girls all did solo recordings, Mel C's "Northern Star" album made somewhat of an impression on me, with the Big Beat of "Goin' Down", the melody of "I Turn To You", and "Never Be the Same Again", the duet with the late Lisa LeftEye Lopez of TLC, another nu-soul girl group of the time, whose song "Waterfalls" would also have sounded just wonderful in a The Band version, or any other 60s era type RNB version. The "Northern Star" album credits didn't list any musicians, but only producers, effectively not revealing anyone's name who played on the disc.

Mel C's cover of The Blue Nile's "Soul Boy" was the highlight of her 2nd album, which I also left on the store shelf.
Unfortunately, she then jumped the casting show bandwagon with her song "Next Best Superstar" from her 3rd album ...

It appears that they feel it's time to spice up their careers.

Yes, of course Gazza ....roll out Sheila E, Apollonia, Vanity (about whom he wrote a great unreleased song called "Wonderful A.ss" ... which indeed she had), Jill Jones, Mayte, Cat, Taja Sevelle ...

Oh and your comment about The Spice Girls and supermarkets was, of course, fookin' priceless young man. Although Mel B always did it for me and still does it for me.
