Keith's set ever cancelled?
Posted by: Thommie ()

Several shows have been cancelled due to Keith Richards famous fall from the palm tree yesteryear. And earlier because of broken ribs and infection in his finger.

Shows also have been cancelled due to Mick Jagger’s vioce problems.
But: Has Keith two-song-set ever been “deleted” because of voice problems?

Not that i know of but judging from some of his singing performances in the past it should have :-)

They should cancel his set this tour though, at least the rockers like Happy and Wanna Hold You because there terrible. You got the Silver was decent in Barcelona and from what i've read also in Lyon. maybe beautifull slow song like Slipping Away would be a good idea.

Cheers,
Wuudy

I think there was one show in 1982 (Where? Italy?) when Keith didn't sing Little T&A. And I also think there was one show in 1990 (or 1989) when he did only one song instead of two.

at the first 82 Turin show (july 11th) Keith didn't do his LV turn (Little T&A, of course).
was that due to "voice problems", though? from what i've heard it seems more like general indisposition.

and Keith's set was omitted at that show in 05 where there was a bomb scare, but
that was due to the bomb scare, not "voice problems".

yeah, a longer Keith Set would be brilliant!

In Charlotesville in 2005 the Stones had to interrupt the show because of a bomb alert. Here's the setlist : [www.doctorstones.net]
Keith skipped his set when the show resumed

Well honestly Slipping Away is a nice song, but we had it soooooo many times during the recent tours. He has many ballads he could do instead of rockers : This Place Is Empty, The Worst, Learning the Game...

Always thought Charlotesville was one of the best set lists due to Rambler been slotted in the home run.

I would prefer a 20 minute intermission and no KR set. Just 2 hours of Pure Stones

See the IORR reports from the bomb incident in Charlottesville 2005:
[iorr.org]
Lots of info about the bomb threat there.
No Keith set that night.
