Up and Down with the Rolling Stones question - Keith's dogs

Hope someone can help me out.
If you have an English copy of Up and Down, could you check a thing for me?
I have an Italian edition and I'm curious about the original text in English.

It's about Keith's dogs. In the book it mentions a certain Sif, a dog used to hunt deer he got in Scotland.
How does the English text define the breed of the dog?
I am asking because I have had scottish deerhounds for 10 years and it'd make sense if Sif were a scottish deerhound.

I guess it's the 10th, pretty much at the beginning 3 to 5 pages into it I guess, writing about life in Redlands. It mentions two labradors too. Thanks for any help.

Thaaaaaaaanks! Man, don't get me wrong, but this thing makes my rainy day a bit better.
Deerhounds are a very rare breed, so it feels weird that he had one.

Here's a photo of Graph, my deerhound:

"Syph was a deerhound that Keith had sent down by rail from a breeder in Scotland."

Deerhounds don't drool, thank God, that's why I got one ;-)

I LOVE deerhounds! They are THE coolest (sorry to "Doggie" my cocker, but....) I once had, what looked like a Deerhound mixed with a Terrier. Her name was Tess and she was a rescue -- some NYC former Rockette had abandoned a houseful of dogs and she was one of them. She was the meanest, most f-ed up dog I've ever had, but, yeah, great haircut! Wish I had a picture - it was so many years ago!

Uh-oh, a dog thread.

Dunhill.

Nice pic.

I had a friend who had a drooling Hound actually an Irish Wolf hound.

She used to drool if anyone ate Granny Smiths Apples.

No kidding she just loved them would slowly edge accross the room till she was practically sitting and drooling on you.

Not a pretty site and most people just gave her the apple to save being drowned.

She also used to steal them from the fruit bowl when no one was looking.

Sheeba our previous GSD used to drool for Kiwi Fruit and would also steal them .

We now have Glen another GSD and he likes stealing Cherry Tomatoes but does not drool.

Thanks. The only thing that gets Graph in an almost-drooling mode is cheese.
He's addicted to it, he could withstand a full-day worth of thunderstorms, thunders scare the s**t out of him, for some cheese.
Beside that he's very polite and clean.
Wolfhounds are biiiiiiiiig, too much for me, even though Deerhounds ain't that small either, Graph is 96 cm. at his shoulder.

I have a black and tan coonhound and his drool can be out of control sometimes. You should see what the back of my car looks like.

This is what he looks like
