I do...but I still haven't convincingly been told there was more than one show in Milan????

I have always thought there was 1 show only...

Looking at the film there is definately more than 1 show......

I could torrent it, maybe next week. I'm totally swamped in schoolwork and other things right now, so later.

Ließ - that would be great!

This might be the find of the decade. I covet it.

It's not THAT good. smiling smiley
The sound dubbing/editing (see the other thread) drives me crazy. If Steffiestones really makes a better edit, I'm looking forward to that one. The picture is impressive, actually, with nice closeups on every band member, very professionally done. The performance (sound) is great as well -- pity it's so fragmented.

Yeah, I just read the other thread. But even as 'raw material' it is something to look forward to. Vintage Stones, an almost forgotten tour, great picture quality... there's not very much of that around.

one simple question: how to get this unearthed gem?

The video footage is great, I can get past the audio not matching up well but if you are able to fix this up a little that would be great.

Some of it might be fixable, but there are limits to what anyone could do and I think it is about as good as one could expect. Think of it as "one minute" of video per song, spliced and stretched to make it look like a video of the complete song. Some songs have more or less footage, but ultimately you are looking at the same footage repeated in most stanzas and choruses of the song. Sometimes the film appears upside down or sideways in order to get more mileage out of the limited video. But you can tell that video excerpts of Little Queenie are used for JJF and shots of Keith playing the JJF riff are used in Roll Over Beethoven. SFTD omits Taylor's solo (though Taylor is shown soloing during Keith's solo). Here and there, the dubber missed some obvious matches, but that is quibbling.

For me, the dubber did a WONDERFUL job within the limits of the available footage. The video is a lot of fun. The sound is reasonably clear--pretty good by '70 Stones standards, the picture is clear (you typically can see the frets and fingers) and the video shows all the band members. Many thanks to whoever recorded it and put it together. Yes, it is a gem.

I hear you Smokey, any footage of the Stones from these years is great no matter what form its in. Just to give you a sense of the band's pressence on stage during these tours and a small tidbit of what the atmosphere must have been like. Would be nice if someone gets their hands on this 1972 MSG footage that is supposedly out there and does the same. I hope more rare footage from the 70s sees the light of day.

You're probably right, Smokey. Maybe the video source was more fragmented than I realized, and the video is repeated more than I thought.

Hound Dog -- I have the MSG '72 Super 8 footage (I think I mentioned this in another thread) and also an audio bootleg of the same show. But it's *very* fragmented, and even if I had the time and the software and the knowledge to do it, I could barely make one complete song out of it. (That would be Happy, the number with the most footage, and it would be filled with a lot of other stuff). If nobody else does it, I'll probably get to it some day and do some kind of work out of it. No Berry soloing during Dead Flowers anyway......

Even without the sound, it would be interesting to watch. Is it on You Tube?

Some on the site may recall this teaser:
