Slightly OT

This probably has been discussed before but here goes anyways.

Many times it is relevant to quote someone else's post to get your point across - especially if you're answering directly to a problem or question in the other post.

But is it really necessary to always quote the whole lot or would it sometimes make sense to just quote the relevant part of the post?

And sometimes people will quote a whole post at length and then end up asking a general question that does not pertain to the post specifically.

My old eyes get tired from reading the same posts over and over...looking for the new bit ;-)

Yeah, I agree.
Haha, couldn't resist - but you really got a point.
I usually reduce the quote to the lines I refer to.
