I did not watch that clip, so I do not know if any of the '64 TAMI show footage is in there, but the Miracles really shake it up during that performance. And to say again, the TAMI show has the best live footage of the Stones with Brian that I am aware of. That was a very FUN show.
Going to a go-go is magic, second that emotion, I always imagine the stones could cover this, keiths style would work great with some rhythmn and some licks thrown in.
Just about to give a nat king cole disc a spin for the first time. Never knew the cat passed away in 1965? Unbelievable...
I really love Motown. Best American music of the 60's. I always thought they never really got the recognition they deserve. Gordy and Strong penned more top 10 hits then the Beatles and Stones put together.
A few years ago, some people at work were discussing the Miracles. Someone said that he would give a hundred dollars to anyone who was able to name a single member of the Miracles.

WTF! You were right! You should've given them licks...

Yeah...
I listened to him argue that the "The Miracles" refered to the backup singers -- and not to Smokey himself!
I countered that with a question: "Was Diana Ross one of the Supremes?" I asked him. "Well..." he answered. But I knew that getting the hundred bucks was hopeless,

My greatest wish for this tour would be for the Stones to surprise us all and perform a different Motown number such as 'If I were a Carpenter', which was once performed live by the Small Faces.
Love 'em, a 'lost' favorite hit-that-coulda-been is "Show Me You Can Dance" (issued on the box). Other all time faves include "Dance To Keep From Crying" & "The Love I Saw In You Was Just A Mirage"
I met Smokey briefly at my local Dominick's supermarket, a couple of years ago. He was there making an in-store appearance touting his Soul In A Bowl line of frozen food. What a gracious and beautiful man. And, oh my goodness, those green eyes! I know I have a picture of the event around here somewhere... I can't believe I've never seen him perform live. He should open for the Stones.
