Now that we have Google Video and Youtube...what were some cool talk shows from your part of the world?

Here on the east coast of the USA, we had Mike Douglas and Dick Cavett.

I'm sure there were other "Talk Shows" around the world, or is this an American thing?

Occasionally they had some cool/counterculture guest on - Stones, Lennon, etc.

I remember watching him on channel 9 in New York. He was a nice guy but didn't have much "booking power". He would always have some obscure guest that almost no one in the world knew.

Tom Snyder was good.....I remember seeing him interview John Lennon once....good interview....remember Dan Akroyd imitated him and interviewed Jagger (in 1979?)

If we are talking about late night too, my all time favorite would have to be "Late Night With David Letterman"- when he was still on NBC following Johnny Carson.

Tom Snyder and Joe Franklin....two good suggestions.

Tom was the man..he was a funny, quick witted guy.

Wyman came on Letterman a couple times. Ron came with Rod too.
Keith did Friday Night Videos with Paul Shaffer.
Ron showed up on Howard Stern and one time Ronnie was on the shortl;ived Bob Kostas show. That was such a bizarre show because Kostas is a sportscaster. He has Ron Wood who was acting very strange. Maybe he was loaded.
