OT: RIP Roland S Howard

Reports are that Roland S Howard passed away sometime today 30th December.

Roland has been a cult figure of the Australian music scene for some 3 decades
Was a member of Birthday Party with Nick Cave .... Worked with Nikki Sudden among others .......
Recent release Pop Crimes some of his best works ....

Roland had been awaiting a liver transplant.....RIP

Oh shit. Loved The Birthday Party and saw them many times in London in the early 80s. He'll be forming a band with Tracey Pew I bet. God bless ya Roland.

I was a big Birthday Party fan. Saw them supporting Bauhaus in 1981 and never missed a London show. I last saw him on stage with Nick Cave in 1992, when he played Nick The Stripper and a couple of other BP songs with The Bad Seeds at the Forum. He was amazing to watch.

Rowland was an incredible guitarist, arranger and - let us not forget - songwriter too. RIP.

Just got this very sad news. I agree with Nikolai's assessment.
Also, RSH's work with Crime and the City Solution was great.
Let's Rowland around in that stuff.

Thats spooky, i am listening to "Get Lost" by These Immortal Souls the moment I read this thread. I heard he was ill, sad news.
