Has the human riff become a total embarassment?
Posted by: stargroover ()
Date: April 6, 2007 23:24

It seems to be that our super hero Sir Keef is becoming a walking embarassment.I use to think this guy was the coolest guy in rock n, roll, but now I think he has become an embarassment to not only himself, his fans, his band mates but his family.Even if it was a joke what sort of sick joke was it?Not even funny. His Mother is apparently very sick, how is this sort of thing going to help out.

The public are always going to remember the snorting of his fathers ashes comment. This is the guy who a few years ago is harpening on about how important family are.

Just think Sir Mick and RollingStones Inc. are saying whats the jerk done now.He is going to lose us more money.Get him to retract it.

It was bad enough the guy falling from the library ladder and then the head injury. Then the ridiculous tash and now this.Plus ballsing up the intros to songs like JJF.The guy is an embarassment.

What position are you in to judge Keith?

It was a sarcastic answer to an idiotic question!

What do you mean his mother is apparently sick? I didn't hear about that.

Reading many reactions here, it is clear to me that many of us don't recognize our own changes... Our standards have changed.

On stage we don't allow Keith to have changed, demand all kinds of things from our beloved pensionado, just because we've chosen to pay to relive our youth again for two hours? (FALSE). But when it comes to Keith just doing/saying what he wants, like he always has, we suddenly demand some sense in dealing with the media, that WE suddenly seem to find important? Is it not more our own fear, our own embarrasment for someone that just does not care, like we have learned to care though the years of responisibility/job/children/milding down from rock 'n roll?

Come on, toughen up, Keith did ont hurt anyone. And IF his family members are hurt in someway, it is up to Keith to solve that. But I doubt he's hurt them anymore than he can solve, Judge him for whether he does solve it or not. But that's something we cannot do, because WE DON"T KNOW...

please stop reflecting your morals to others.

The fact that some people want to drag this stupid thing out is an embarrassment.

Which is more embarrassing

Keith saying stupid things - and not giving a shit what other people think

Us - spending time on a board writing about the stupid things he says.

He's living his life, while we're spending ours talking about his.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Ne is only a guitar player and songwriter. It's when people expect him to be something more that they get disappointed.

Thanks CindyC for the remarks. We've had both ends in this thread, but you're right, we should stop giving it all this attention.

But sometimes I wonder, are we talking about Keith or about ourselves... Oops, here I go again...

Hsssjjj... Well, I'm gonna take my last beer before gooing to bed. Trying to relax a bit. Almost a little shaky, it's gotten me worked up reading anOTHER new thread about his so called misbehaviour. It's just.... well... behaviour... ;-)

Gonna post something nice on the Too Much Blood-thread, or the Hot Stuff-thread to cool down.

Yup, it's all over. The tours cancelled, they've removed all their CDs from store shelves, everyone's wearing Keith masks on the street and cremation has been outlawed.

Get a hold of yourself, will you.

ehm... I did not forbid anyone to use words.

Second: I only asked. So I did not even forbid. Different verb, and important nuance.

PS, so you also think Keith has the right to say what he wants?

Still have to answer your question, assuming you did not exactly mean 'forbid'. Ehm... I'll take some more care, I promise. But, still my opinion about reflecting other people to ones own morals stays the same. I mean, what do 'we' do everyday? I mean, we VOTE. See what we're responsible for... What's the miles/gallons-ratio of your car? We talk behind peoples back all the time. People do terrible things on sundays after church... Some of us will drive home fully loaded after their Stones-gig this summer... I'd say: we should care for our own behaviour a bit more.

This post hits the nail on the head. Has anyone stopped to think that Keith (and Mick and Charlie) have been asked the same dumb questions for 30 years. Good for him for giving an answer that wasn't in the playbook.

If a person is embarassing, then that is a very own opinion.
It's in the eye of the beholder.

I don't feel embarassed by Keith's interview at all. Why should I?

Talk is cheap

I agree with Ms. Tuesday

I think you are making it out to be bigger than it is stargroover. This isn't like the O.J. situation where his reputation will be wrecked for the rest of his life. This will be forgotten about in a few weeks.

Keith Richards, like the Queen, is above embarassment.
