Oh, where will it end?

Tonight, while watching American Idol with my kids I heard a beer commercial that began with the Stones' Let It Bleed cut...

The song morphs seamlessly into some dude playing guitar on the friggin' beach while singing Let It Bleed with his friends.

Yechhh! Enough already!

That's funny man. Because I almost started a thread on my own. I first saw that commercial about a week ago and I was thinking is this new or recycled. Either way it's absolutly hideous. Espicially when it transitions from the Stones singing to the doofus on the commercial singing. Like ya said schillid.OH,where will it end?

i just saw it too and almost made a new post! and it came on 2 ads after the original chase "i'm free" commercial with mick actually singing a full two lines!

I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape over the songs being used in commercials.
Who cares? The ads come and go in a matter of weeks (except this Chase commercial which seems to have the staying power of the Stones themselves).

The commercials come and go without ruining the song. Is there anyone who will no longer listen to "Let It Bleed" now that a small portion of it was used in a beer commercial? "Wild horses" was in a commercial years ago- now most people probably can't even remember what the product was.

Take it as a compliment. If the Stones weren't a huge part of American pop culture their songs wouldn't be all over the place.

totally agree.... why do people keep beating this horse to death??? also, john cougar mellencamp said he decided to use his latest song for a truck ad or pickup truck ad after seeing how tom petty's excellent album was ignored by radio..he wanted his song to be heard and nowadays thats one way of getting it out ther.e.i know that doesn't apply for classics but for new songs it makes sense....


people have these set rules about

1. too old to rock
2. don't vary setlists
3. songs in commercials
4. ticket prices..

It is one of the lower profile ones. Not like the Chase commercial. I have seen it only twice in the last week.

Missed that Bingo. But obviously we all saw it about the same time. Took me by total surprise first time I saw it. I keep thinking who says putting a Rock song on a commercial makes you want to buy the shit. Makes me hate the product even more.

My defense is that I was watching tv with my kids ... I was only interested in spending some time with my kids.

i can understand watching tv with the kids...thats cool

but seriously that american idol stuff is pure garbage...when i think of me growing up watching cosby/family ties/cheers etc and kids today watching american idol night after night..
