Never Under Estimate The Rolling Stones

I first saw my fav band in 1982. Thought I´d better see them before it´s too late.
In 1990 I grabbed my second chance. Still going, I thought. Amazing! 1995 came and I was there. Third time. WOW. To my further amazement I rocked with them in 1998. I thought that must be it. Surely. But no. To my delight I rocked once more in 2003. I really thought that was it. A 40th anniversary. Surely. But no. A Bigger Bang gave me the biggest bang of all. And the rumours abound that they are not finished yet. Thus the lesson learnt. Never under estimate the Rolling Stones. May you rock on.

There is a boot from the licks tour, first Boston show, but I could be wrong, when the first songs cranks up, you can hear a guy say, this is their last tour, or something to that affect, I just laughed

I think I heard that also ... wonder how many times that statement has been uttered in the last 30 years or so.

I appreciate the music, the history, and the cool.... starting to over estimate the relationship that the band has with it's most ardent supporters...

You might have a point there.

The biggest tour of The Stones. I don't know. A great vintage. Yes, for sure. If I may try a comparison with Bordeaux ( Bx) : A Bigger Bang has the taste of 89-9O Bx, but not the one of 61 or 82 Bx which I would put in 70-71 or 72-73. But let's rock on,as you say it, it's a matter of taste.

I've seen the stones 5 times. 1st time in St Louis 1981. Then Paris(Parc de Princes) in 1990 then Fenway park 2nd show opening BB then Gilette stadium for the 2nd go around of BB. With each new tour I'm apprehensive thinking they're past their prime and each time they rock out. YOu can always expect Jagger to be good- its his ego on the line after all but I think 2 other things helped the band find its force. 1) keef's goodbye to another old friend ie- kicking his drug habit and 2) when Wyman left-I think having a new bass player energized the whole band. It was in the mid 90's with DJ on bass that they really started to mix up the set lists when they played live. Each tour has its own flavor- so I dont think you can choose one tour. Recently I've been listening a lot to the B to B sets from Latin America. NEVER TOO OLD TO R and R

Everybody nowadays knows that you shouldn't underestimate The Rolling Stones,
that's one of the essential natural laws but that's a little bit overstated.

RIGHT ON!
God nice to be positive, so much lame negetivity here at times about setlists, price of tickets, and people in general who think the Stones owe them something.
Shit man, they are a rock and roll band. Vote with your wallets if you don't want to see them.

Yeah, they still are rocking harder than most newer bands! And I look forward to their next tour, and don't give a shit what they play!

Roll on Stones!

I never really give a shit what they play either.
If they play something unusual that's a favourite...bonus ;^)
