I hate to be the one to provide a reality spritzer here...but eventually, there will be a final Rolling Stones concert, the question is when and how may are left before the last time.
Do you think the number of shows left are: < 50 shows < 100 < 150 > 200 shows
Keep in mind, we're not looking for "wishful thinking" here...but how much they have left in the tank. Do you think they'll do at least one show in 2011? That would be their 6th decayed of rocking and a rolling.
BTW...does anyone else get the heebee jeebee willies whenever the Stones play "The Last Time" in concert? I sure do...hehe ;-)
less than 50. i hope they will play in holland, not the arena but rotterdam or arnhem. i will see them in the UK, Belgium and maybe dusseldorf or paris. i think it will be their last tour. sad, but its true bye jeroen-holland
there will be another world tour, even though many people think not, 2008 2009 world tour is my perdiction, after that we will see how the health issues are, 2007 will not happen imho, cohl is sponsoring the police remember

I really doubt this. More tours, for sure, but not a World tour. Don't think Charlie's up for any more of those.

yeah, that really prevented the Stones and all those other acts he promotes (U2, Streisand, etc) from touring at the same time over the last two years
he's only the artist's promoter - its not like he's signed to play guitar for them as well.

To actually address the topic ... my prediction is after this year's tour they'll take a few years off, then come back for a 2 year on and off tour (maybe three months on, three months off, something like that) for 2010-12.
They'll bill it as their 50th aniversary/farewell tour and the stage design will feature a giant cash register. The B Stage will be the drawer that pops out of the cash register, and each Stone will perform on a stack of 20 ft. x 10 ft. replicas of thousand dollar bills. Ticket prices will be $2,000 each, or your life savings, whichever number is greater.

Its not like they havent got any older or none of them have had any health problems in the last 17 years, though...

does not always happen gazza, if so were the hell is the announcement then, are they waiting for an invitation or something, it would be silly for the stones to extend the abb tour at this point, its been to long of a delay, plus cohl is doing the police thing, and this is huge since er, they havent been out for 20 years

The Police were fine in their day. I am a fan. Seen them a couple times and have most if not all their albums. But I don't see this a huge. A blatant exercise for cash is more like it. I guess we will see something from the Grammy's to know whether they have the enthusiasm and chops to put on a good show. Edit: I posted before seeing the Police thread. I see I am not alone in my lack of excitement.

Strange post coming from someone with the nick NumberOneStonesFan. Do you have your own little countdown for the number of days remaining for yourself on this planet? To be honest I think this is pretty inappropriate.

why is it inappropriate, these guys are almost 70 years old, are you kidding me
So once a guy knocks 60+ it is perfectly approptiate to ask this person how long this person will still be walking around on this planet? Sort of what is your plan for leaving us? Unappropriate.
PS. Mick and Keith's parents both lived till they were around 90+ years old. Making an estimated countdown to the date when somebody will not exist anymore - being a single person or a band - is highly inappropriate to my taste, indeed.

Charly gets 66 this year, Mick and Keith only 64, Ronnie is even "younger"...so everyone is many years under the anticipated average age, which is between 75 and 80 or so for men.
