Dear Stones fans,

Like most people in this forum, I have Four Flicks. I used to have some great VHS of earlier years of the boys.

Is it possible to buy these as a high quality DVD releases at reasonable price anywhere? I trust your experience with these:

- Ladies And Gentleman, The Rolling Stones 1972
- Let`s Spend the Night Together 1981
- Stripped 1995
- ABB Saitama gig 2005 or -06

Thanks,

Wesley

You can get all of them on bit torrent. The "Let's Spend The Night Together" DVD is even official.

Wesley

I have used RSconcerts and have found them to be very good and fast delivery (posted the day payment received).

The cost per CD(double) was about £9.50-nice artwork as well!

9.50 £ for a 2CD-R ?
That's 60% of a new pressed 2CD.
I can make CDRs to you....a hamster or live chicken each 4 CDR.

I have heard that the DVDs downloaded from bit torrent sites are not as high quality as DVDs as those pressed or even copied.

well, that's not really true,i've downloaded, for example, stones in rio, documentary broadcasted on national geographic, torrent on RocksOff, it is a ISO file(image file), which it means that is exactly the same as source.

Hi again!

I found this BitTorrent thing too difficult for my XP Pro- system. Instead I joined another downloading system, I think it is called ProMusic or something.. Immediatly I got many good live versions of Stevie Ray, Clapton, Metallica and, of course some RS earlier performances (Brown S etc)

BTW, I´m still gonna do the reservations from this RsConcerts guy. Maybe I´m old-fashioned. I´ll order these concerts:

- Ladies and Gentleman 1972
- 1981, October 15th Seattle Kingdome
- 1998, March 30th Buenos Aires, Argentina, Estadio River Plate

Still haven`t found Stripped.. I think it has been broadcasted on some TV stations, so there must be bootleg somewhere..
Any ideas?

>> Any ideas? <<

yep: go over to the "hot stuff" forum of this site: [www.iorr.org]
and ask if anyone is into doing a trade or B&P (blanks and postage) with you for it.
be sure to say what continent you live on; and if your equipment can't handle both PAL and NTSC,
be sure to say which system you need.

Wesley, you´re going to miss out on the good stuff, if you don´t use bittorrent.
Here is a guide I made [www.stonesvikings.com] it´s not very complicated.

...But maybe the burning speed has something to do with it ?
I've experienced noise/hiss and hiccups in DVDRs I've recieved,
and when I later got the original DVD, everything was perfect.

I`m doing the downloading now. The instructions that Mickijaggeroo has in his website are of valuable help.
Now the problem seems to be too many users at the same time at http//www.dimeadozen.org. I´m waiting for my turn.

Time is on my side!

Oh,ok I see what you mean (I think). There's a limit of 100,000 members on dimeadozen, so you might have to try a few times to get in. Well worth the patience, though.

Feel free to get what you need off the Rocks Off tracker, though. We've no membership cap or enforced share ratio - all we ask is that you leave your files open once youve completed the download to help others do the same.

It`s working! I started to download RS gig 11th of November (Dallas).

I´ll learn this hole new world and will do follow your ethical orders..

Thanks, especially Mickjaggeroo, Kent (who gave the link) and you Gazza!

Gazza
Leave your files open -- is this so others can download stuff from your computer and this is the best and most efficient way to share, and not clog up the system by lots of folks going to one place or a limited number of places?

If so, my question would be - are there any dangers in doing this, does it open yourself up to viruses, hackers, or do anything else that can damage or limit your computer/netowrk?

Youre welcome. Watch out for the bit before one of the songs (Ruby Tuesday, I think) where Mick turns to Keith and can be quite audibly heard to say to him, "f**k off, you c**t"

Or use up your bandwidth/slow you down?

I think I am near ready to get into this stuff and just download lots.Have to review Vilhem's manual and be sure I have the correct hardware/software to do this.

It would be nice to get all this stuff for free. And it is for both DVDs and CDs?

I would also then like to print those free DVD covers and make it look slick.

I really dont know what the hell I am talking about but I suppose eventually I will.
