That's sick! And it's not only in Japan things are bizarre....
One better get a cabin or a sailship, and drift away.
I'm saving money for a sailship, myself.

you know, they make many of these stereos in Japan. I think the volume knob ought to have a little click on it so as you turn it clockwise you know when you've reached the "jail" setting...

Well it was "dance music"..........

My question is, who plays music "virtually around the clock"?

AND, how crazy is it that Judge increased the sentence by 8 mths?

Ever been a victim of "second-hand rap?"

You know, when you are stopped at a red light and YCAGWYW is just beginning on your CD player, right about when the choir finishes and the acoustic guitar comes in, and then some guy in a '78 Chevy Monte Carlo pulls up next to you with the boom-box blasting to the point where it's vibrating the sheet metal off the car? They actually have laws against that where I live although I don't think it's really enforced, much to my dismay.

How could the offensive music continue for 29 months without intervention from law enforcement? ....and I wish we knew what the other lady did to piss off the one with the stereo.

Absolutely Lukester---that's the real story!!

So much to follwup here--like were there any warnings prior to the arrest? What possessed the judge to practically double the sentence? Where were the other neighbors? How did the offending person themselves get any sleep with the constant barrage?

I lived in the Norwegian countryside many years ago. My next door neighbour had this thing for Swedish dance bands (Vikingarna, Sven Ingvars etc for the locals - and for everyone else: This is as low as a musician can sink...). Every night the newly wed couple had a few drinks, asked some friends over and started playing that really shitty music extremely loud. For a while I tried to be polite and tolerant - and sometimes I put on my own Stones-albums at an even higher volume. Then one Sunday morning - their party had been going on untill 5 am, and I was going to work at 9 am - I lost my patience. Went over to their house - brought a copy of "Stripped" - with the following message: OK - if you're going to keep playing this loudly, can't you at least play some REAL music???
They took the hint and kept the album... And even played it on several occations.

I heard of someone who had to do serious time in the pokey for ignoring the "This Record Should Be Played Loud" command on the inside sleeve of Let It Bleed. She was playing Monkey Man but the volume on her stereo was set on the lowest level.
