Entire show = New Orleans, very bad quality
7 songs = Fort Worth, quite good picture quality, and perfect audio
+ TV reports and short clips, from Chicago and some other places.
I read about a guy who had a self-made video of Lakeland 1978, but he didn't circulate it.

My question is--are there any theories about what happened to the rest of Ft Worth? I am grateful for what is out there, but damn, it would be great if that whole show would somehow surface.

Handsome Girls is my alltime favorite Stones boot, and probably always will be. What I'm wondering is why this tour seems to be skipped past for video. There's SNL and Fort Worth (and the SNL rehearsals) which are all stellar, but no PPV show or anything like that. The Stones went back to basics on their band setup and to me 'the weave' has never sounded as good as on the 78 tour. Its really a shame nothing official was released.

It's not part of the tour, but the best '78 DVD to get is any with the Saturday Night Live performances on. Jaggers vocals are hoarse, but its great old footage. There is an edition out with the rehersals on to. Jagger was better and Keith smoking on Respectable.

I don't think PPV existed then...I think cable TV and HBO came a little bit later.

The main ingredient that was missing back then were the screens. Stadium shows had not been perfected yet. the videos from 78 that do exist are frustrating because they are like many fan's actual live experience actually played out: you see tiny dots in bright colors moving around on a faaaar away stage,

"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."
