Why don't the boys just do a free concert in the park, like Rio?
F*cking film that!

simple - because they can make a fortune (and have done) by playing a couple of arena and stadium shows instead and charging $450 a ticket

Rio suited them because they were paid a lot of money by the city council to perform and it meant they could spend as little time in South America (3 shows!) before returning to a much more lucrative market like the US

they should do a concert in central park if only to do Miss You in the setting that the middle part of the song takes place in.

I don't know, NYC is now such a terrorist target (I'm sure they wanna hit it again) can you imagine just dealing with security these days? Central Park is a bit different then Giants Stadium - it's CENTRAL !!! A terrorist's wet dream to hit that spot full of millions for a concert.....

MicksBrain i'm surprised at you buying into all this fearmongering from the bush white house...

if thats a reason not to have a concert we might as well suspend the 4th of july celebration on the mall...

hell everything is a target.. every mall in america could be a target..

gee wonder why they haven't hit anything.. has bush done such a great job defending us? i wonder

Dave Mathews had a concert in Central park a couple years ago. ( I dont remember the exact year, but it was in the post 9-11 era) Hes not too popular here on this board (not a huge fan myself but not totally "anti) ,but anyhoo, he is like the stones in one respect: he draws a big crowd. and there werent any terroist problems there.

Yeah, Dave Matthews TERRORIZED Manhattan - kind of like "White Noise" killing people. See how sneaky those terrorist have become....

stoned_in _dc, the reason the Terrorists haven't attacked us is they feel SO bad about what Bush is doing to this country and all of us that they don't have the heart to add to the pain and destruction - hard to believe but true (Only FAIR AND BALANCED NEWS from MicksBrain for the IORR peeps)

If Dave plays Central Park then the terrorists have already won.

It is a terrorist target I agree. But Paul McCartney, The Stones, Bruce Springsteen and U2 (The groups I consider to be the 4 biggest live acts of today) have all played there since 9/11. They know how to deal with it by now I think.
I remember the Superbowl in 2002 (First SB after 9/11). The officials said that the stadium was the safest place in the world that night..... And then a streaker ran onto the field. He was dressed as a football player and he just stripped off his clothes in the center at the field. He started running, but he got a good tackle by a player. It was hilarious.
