I'm sure I'm not alone in appreciating Dean Goodman's insightful reviews of the Stones gigs. Thanks a lot, Dean. You are a cool cat.

Yep, always a good read.

Yeah, he's funny. The labia comment was perhaps unnecessary, but I am a girl, so that one would've made my whole gender squirm.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

i usually think they're good but last night's review started as a put down calling them a cover band. i don't think the rest of us were disappointed with these covers.

Little Queenie - did you ever tell us what Keith's obscene gesture was? I am DYING to know. That's so cool!

If you prefer, would you email me privately?

LQ - I just read it!

That is the COOLEST THING EVER!!!! You must be on cloud 9!
You go to a lot of shows, do you think Keith and Ronnie recognize you, or do you think they just thought you were a cute girl up front?

Also, as for Keith's sexuality - I wrote on here something funny that happened at one of the Twick shows, but I'll remind you.

Keith was playing and walked over to Lisa. Lisa was dancing fairly suggestively, she had her stomach sort of sucked in, chest stuck out and was half bending over shaking her ass. As Keith came over to her, she kept doing it, and then she brought her hand to her mouth and made the international signal for a BJ! Keith cracked up! It was pretty funny!

NO ONE I've spoken too saw it though, so now I'm almost feel like I imagined it!

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Dean's reviews are very fun to read. He has also done some great interviews with band members. They can be found in the IORR magazine.

that's funny about lisa - i don't doubt it - she has a good time on stage and always seems relaxed. yes, mick, keith, and ron all know me and i get something from someone at each show - sometimes blatant like last night, sometimes subtle like looks and smiles. it comes in waves where it's just mick for several shows, then ron shows up to step up and be outgoing. usually i walk away feeling like it was a mick night or a ron or keith night. last night was a ron and keith night. winking smiley

i think it started because they like the way i dance. i attribute it to all the years i saw the grateful dead - during the 80s when the stones were broken up. at least some good things came out of it. it kept me busy until '89.

LQ, are you posting on the Bob Seger board or has someone stolen your name? Identity theft! That might be a hanging matter or capital crime!

Very good, thoughtful reviews

I like big drums. Drum shops generally don't have old stuff. To me, the second-hand stuff is part of the fun of drums. That natural kit that I use-that's an early Gretsch kit with the round logo on it.

bob segar? what are you talking about? there is another lq but she capitalizes the first letters of her name and has a mick graphic on her signature - she is not a common poster here. we have only good feelings about our name sharing.

Yeah, she (hopefully a she) is using all caps in her name. Just thought it might be you. It is possible to dig both the Stones and Seger.

Ah yes, the distasteful labia reference. I'd forgoten that, and will pretend Dean was never so uncool.

Is'nt that a tad PRUDISH?,
not Dear Prudence, just prude

I read that Dean won an award for that one
"BEST METAPHOR used in a review of Bigger Bang".

THANK YOU DEAN.......
When I cannot be there,,,,,,, your words bring it alive.

Dont stop......MORE MORE!!!!encore.....

I was at that show.....and his description of the green vest was perfect,
I bet even Jagger fell on the floor laughing his ass off.
BTW
The Wichita setlist was really AWESOME

Prude? me? Yes, I'm now still reeling from CindyC's mention of "international signal." Is that what she's been learning at all those five star hotels?

from the Regina Leader Post, Oct 23

Dean Goodman, who became friends with Ulf on the Stones circuit, can relate.

"They're my life," he said, without reservation. "They are the most important thing in my life, the most important people in my life are the Rolling Stones."

Goodman has seen 176 live Rolling Stones shows so far, once flying from Los Angeles to Milan for a day to attend a concert. He says he slips into a depression when the band isn't on tour and he's "sitting at home with nothing to do," and, when the current tour was rescheduled after Keith Richards was injured falling out of a tree, Goodman says it was "probably the worst I've ever felt."

"It's an addiction," he said. "It's pathological. They're way more important than my family and friends. My whole life is devoted to the Stones, my house is a shrine to the Stones.

"But there's some really crazy guys on the tour," he added. "They're way crazier than I am."

The great thing about the reviews are they are done by different fans from different parts of the world.I appreciate each and every review.

Every time I read Dean Goodman's report, I feel as if I were one audience.
I've never seen him, but I think he is a trustworthy American.
His review is exactly virtual experience to the show from Far East.

I like his reviews. Erik posted links to them above. He has a good "living" writing style.

Agree. Very vivid. I like the way he catches the unique feeling of the day. "Keith worked the stage" is a great image, for instance (Puerto Rico review).

Thanks CindyC for more international signs.

Hope the best one is yet to come - your international sign for "Got into the Beacon." Hope it's for the 31st. You stay away from Bill Clinton on the 29th.
