What do we want to hear at the Beacon Theatre?
Posted by: shidoobee ()

...Appart from Happy Birthday, Mr. President? (not performed by Marilyn, but by Mick...)
I'll go for "Respectable"! With a nice dedication to the Republican who had a thing for the 16-year olds in the White House... No, just kidding! But I think Respectable is a great tune!
Come up with some great suggestions - remember - this is a show where hard core fans will be over represented - not like stadium or arena shows. So this opens up for a different choice of songs, right?

Everything but the songs they played on this tour so far. Wouldn't that be great? But since I'm not going...

The boys should ditch most of their current repetoire. Of course they probably don't have the time to rehearse a whole new setlist, but I'd like to hear them dust off and play some gems like:

I Got The Blues
Prodigal Son
Comin Down Again
Hey Negrita
Hand Of Fate
Let Me Go
Sweet Black Angel
Torn And Frayed
Rip This Joint
2000 Man
Little Red Rooster
Rt. 66
Jump On Top Of Me
Carol
Little Queenie
Let It Rock
Short And Curlies!
Slave

Not necessarily in that order, but that about 19 or 20 to replace the tired dogs they've been playing forever. Maybe add Little T&A to compliment CDA for Keef. I'd be a happy man...

Let me down slow
Time is on my side
Worried about you
Dance
Torn and frayed
Shine a light
Hang fire
20 flight rock
Mixed emotions
Respectable
I can't turn you loose
That's how strong my love is
I could go on for hours!

thats to be seen. All depends on how many tickets they choose to make available to such fans and more importantly what steps they take (or dont take) to ensure most of them dont end up falling into the hands of brokers and scalpers.

So

In theory, yes. But I think that to expect the Stones to dramatically revamp their setlist just for two shows is being optimistic. It was a logical expectation on the last tour because they played around 13 theatre shows so they had a type of setlist already rehersed specifically for those types of concerts. Theres also the fact that these shows are being filmed. I would be very surprised to see them play a lot of debuts or rarely played songs for a concert where they'll want their performance to be well rehearsed

I go with what stone-relics says. They should play what they want. Thats how it should be at every show, but it very rarely is.

Let it Loose.

"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."

Considering the fact that Let It Loose is in Scorsese's new film, if theyre finally going to debut this great song, this is the most likely time to do it

i don't care what they play-
i'll buy the dvd when it's available,
but i'm not going to lose sleep over a corporate gig for a washed-up polititian,
and his high-rolling friends,
that i have no chance of attending.

Play everything, except LMDS and BM, from ABB. All the other gems from the past should take a backseat to this idea.

Will this film be released as "A Bigger Bang" DVD souvenir or a film, shown in cinemas? Will it be a Stones Biography or a full concert? Will it be filmed in 35mm like the Last Waltz? When will it be available? Are these questions getting annoying?

Both I think. About wether it's a docu or a concert: Nobody knows for sure.
