Electric Mud

I would like to recommend the record Electric Mud by Muddy Waters. All Stones fans should have this in their collections. Blues purists don't like it but it rocks like a muddafugga.

Its a ground breaking record, for sure. I like a the More trad Muddy, though.

It sucks!!!!! Muddy Waters himself detested it. All Stones fans should resist collecting this out of respect for the man, who was cajoled into doing it against his better judgment.....

Hey StonesTod

Excellent to see this record is as controversial as ever. Did you ever actually listen to it?, doesnt sound like Muddy was cajoled to me, by how much passion he puts into it, he might have liked it more, if all the white critics hadn't of put it down. I would admit that the version of Lets spend the night together is pretty bizzare, but I still love it, its funky and crazy.

One other tip this record should be listened to LOUD.

By the way Leonard Chess also loved this record and never understood the snobby critics attitude to it.

Yeah, I have to agree, one of his weakest albums! And he really doesn't sound comfortable trying to fit his style into the psychedelic rock mixes. I much prefer his stuff with Johnny Winter! Check out Mississipi Muddy Live! A slab of heavy blues!
