Stones and Walmart??

A story in the STL Post Dispatch today says that Stan Kroenke (billionare Walton son-in-law) is trying to buy the Stones to play at his daughter Whitney's wedding Sept 23 in Columbia Mo. He's building a helicopter pad on his property so he can shuttle them in from the Columbia airport. Damn!! Must be nice to be rich!

Don't the Stones already have a show that day?Doubleheader?

If it happens, the party won't be the same day as the wedding i imagine. Halifax is a bit far away.

Pff if they do that.. well.. I'd be SAD!

LOL..maybe they'll reschedule the concert that have for that day if the Walmart guy pays more!

After this tour, I'd expect more shows like that, unfortunately. Easy money, little work and a quick run through the hits, jukebox-style.

Can't WE all together hire them and tell them which songs they have to play? Find a few sponsors and take the Royal Albert Hall as the venue?

with the amount of money it would cost, I think we'd need to hire Hyde Park.

give them all a copy of Exile when they buy their ticket, tell them to listen to it until the day of the show and learn all the songs as thats what they'll be playing.

Sounds a pretty good idea.

I recently moved from a city that was very friendly toward WalMart to a city that doesn't have any. I support my new city for that. I would never ever shop at WalMart as a matter of principle. Totally disgusting. People need to really think twice about supporting that chain. I read some story that only 43% of their employees are insured. Why is that? Why are some people looked over? If someone wants to refute what I write, by all means do so. I hope the Stones don't play that gig (if that rumor is true).

I work at Walmart, and let me tell you,all the bad things you've heard are just the start. That is one EVIL company. Not only are most people not insured, but they don't even offer vision, and they have a vision center! All new emmployee's are considered part time so they don't have to provide health insurance. The people that have worked there for years are in danger of losing their jobs because the ghost of sam wants only small paychecks.

I won't hate the Stones for playing that wedding, but I won't be too proud of them either.

There's a Southpark episode where there's some kind of evil guy behind it all called "The Walmart". Everyone gets hypnotized.. It's pretty hilarious.

Not only is Mall Wart evil for their employees, they also suck the life out of small town stores. I avoid going there, but today I had to buy a brakelight for my car and WalMart was the only one close by open on Sunday morning.

They played for a billionair birthday in 2002 (Texas Pacific Group chairman).
Why not for a wedding ?
And next time ? How much for a bar-mitzvah ?
