Tim Ries Concert in Branden cancelled
Posted by: Cheltie ()

Yesterday, a friend of mine got a mail from Branden Remisen, telling her
the Tim Ries project cancelled the concert of 2 September.

Does anybody knows why ?

Why is it nonsense? Please explain. Just interested. I have never seen the project. Just thought about it, cause in stuttgart there was a guy from canada who was absolutely enthusiastic about it.

Shut up. It's a great experience, I saw them for the first time at Ronnie Scott's in London on monday. Bernard Fowler did sing fantastic, the crowd was very touched by his thrilling versions of wild horses and ruby tuesday. It's not silly at all, the Tim Ries Project is meant to be a compliment/tribute to jagger/richards. What is wrong with that? And the musicians are amazing. I really enjoyed my time at Ronnie Scott's.

Completely agree. Watched them in Stuttgart. Amazing experience.
I guess it's "too complicated" for most rock-fans. That's why some of us can enjoy Tim Ries in nice small rooms : )

Ok, thanks for your message. Sounds as it could be worth and a good idea to see them. A pity the concert has been cancelled. Maybe next time.
Maybe next year ?!

I am an open minded person Beelyboy. I have no problems with different point of views. But people should try to find it out themselves.

How many Stones Concerts have been cancelled in Europe this year?
And is Mick a fool to pay for those sucking people like Darryl, Blondie, Bernard, Lisa, Bobby, and more?

Perhaps the Stones know their skills since many years and they have listen to them.

Find some samples:

I was at the Tim Ries Rolling Stones Project in Berlin and it was a very good experience. Can't wait any more for a new Lisa album with some Gimme Shelter and Night Time.

I saw the show at Paradiso Amsterdam, and it was nice. very nice to see most of The Stones' side musicians up close, including Bobby Keys. He is not only some old friend of Keith's. His is extremely good at his sax playing!

Absolutely agree with The Worst here.
Pam and I saw the Tim Ries Experience at the BimHuis in Amsterdam and it was FANTASTIC. Bernard Fowler sang superbly and with tremendous feeling. Great intimate club and they all mingled with the crowd during the break for photos, autographs and were a real pleasure to talk to. The audience there was also very appreciative of the creativity explored in taking Jagger / Richards compositions in entirely different and unexpected directions. Tim Ries, Bernard Fowler and Michael Davis are superb musicians and if you get the chance to see them then you will not be disappointed (unless, of course, you are unable to appreciate any kind of music done by anyone other than the Stones, which is a bit sad). After all, Keith & Ronnie took in a trip to listen to a Classical concert in Vienna, so........?!?

Beelyboy is the only one of you with any deeper insight/taste re music. If you're just a casual fan, stumbling around, sure enjoy Ries' nonsense. Once you know better, like food or wine or art or anything, you can't help but see with a more critical eye. No offense, just the way it is folks, sorry.... It's blindingly clear that the guy is just an opportunist, and not a very good one at that...

Hey Beely, it's all just biz. The stones just happen to be the biggest draw, that's all everyone in the band is in it for the money, that's how they make there feed man.Give the band members some respect,I would probably bet that they did'nt sell enough ticket's to pay for everything that night ,but that's none of our biz.

Saw them twice. Ronnie Scotts and Berlin. If you like Jazz or are open minded it's really a great experience. The band differs lokaly as Tim always tries to find local musicians. In Berlin he had Darryl on bass, a very good french guitar player and a even more better drummer (whose playing Charlie likes very much).

In London Tim had a new band besides Bernard and Michael Davies. Very young musicians and indeed very good. It's good to see such great blood young musicians playing jazz instead of pop or whatever.

And... they will record a new album soon. With Charlie on drums on Miss You!

But what the hack. If you don't like it or don't like jazz at just read over this thread instead of bashing on Tim, at least if you haven't heard him!

i saw them in chicago, the amsterdam paradiso, and in stuttgart. each show is different and all very entertaining. you realize that bernard is more than just a back-up singer.

i just can't figure out how to find out more dates of their shows - everytime i check out tim's site, it still has old dates from last spring...

It's a great set! Tim and his colleagues have amazed me on several occations. New York, Berlin, Amsterdam. But it would have been difficult to do the Branden show. They're in Bergen untill late on Sept 2nd. Horsens is on the 3rd.

Know what chief? I know a lot more than you'll ever know, and I'm in this world (music biz) in a way that you'll only dream of. So check it out, I KNOW opportunism when I see it, and it is pathetic. You want to be a sheep and swallow this junk, go ahead, knock yourself out. I don't blame your average fan that doesn't know any better, but I will speak the truth on this subject.

and understand, i'm not talking about whether YOU have a good time, or whether people play or sing well, I'm talking about the total lack of class and taste in the move, in WHAT IT IS..., from a guy that had nothing to do with rock and roll for his entire life until he fell into the Stones gig. If you understand what I just said, then you know what I'm on about. If not, have a nice day, out....

I just spoke with Branden and he's relieved about the whole thing.

To think that musicians were going to be shrunk into his bloodstream was a horrifying thought....

Wait a second...

The majority of the Stones backup musicians shrunk into the bloodstream!

BRILLIANT, THEY'LL NEVER BE FOUND!
