Blondie on electric guitar?
Posted by: theimposter ()

So I hear he's supposedly playing an elecrtic guitar on songs nowadays? I wonder, especially about recently-played tracks like "Oh No Not You" and "She's So Cold" I tight, controlled rhythm guitar playing under Keith's licking (but equally loud). Is this him? It sounds more consistent and concentrated than the way we have come to expect Ronnie to play. Is this actually Blondie that we're hearing?

Any thoughts?

And if he is indeed doing this, then yes I do have a problem. Not so much because he's not "one of the guitar players" in the Stones. In fact I don't take offense to him playing acoustic like he has on some tracks. For when he is, he is just evoking that old Stones tradition from so many songs (Brown Sugar) comes to mind that are enhanced by the "shadowing" (as Keith calls it) of a acoustic.

But there is no excuse for having him do something that Ronnie or Keith can easily accomplish on electric if they care enough to. The overdriven guitars shouldn't have to have any help. And if someone IS gonna play electric, then let it be Mick, I would wish.

He plays electric on Before They Make Me Run and Jumping Jack Flash. Acoustic on some other songs.

Interesting, I never noticed on past tours him playing an electric. In fact I never saw him playing a guitar atall until he had the acoustic on the Licks tour for Beast of Burden, JJFlash, Satisfaction, etc.

The cost to have MT on stage would be far too expensive, what with all the reinforcement the stage would require. He would have to stand in one spot or risk the whole stage coming down on them all.

Really, have you seen Mick Taylor lately? The dude is so huge he's got little Mick Taylors orbiting around him.

Besides,I don't think I want to hear"Can't You Hear Me Knocking" played by him during every song>

Blondie is just fine on guitar.
