Where do the Stones get their stage outfits ?
Posted by: Hanns Rainsch ()

I know many of their clothes on stage look embarrassing (Keith' oversized Shirts, Ronnies too small tees...), but some of them look quite nice.
Does anybody know where they get their stuff ?
I'd like to have the purple jacket Keith wore in Moncton and the military jacket he had in Charlottesville and on some other gigs (Mexico DF, I think).

Keith got his military jacket from a fan who was a veteran (I believe I heard him say that somewhere).

RS.COM
They probably even get a 5% discount.

Ronnie's CBGB shirt is pretty cool. Sometimes he wears it inside out. Maybe when it's not clean.

I like what they wear this tour, keith's blazers, and army jacket, micks half..blazer things and the long tailcoats are cool, and ronnie is well dressed, charlie a simple tee shirt, i think their outfits are much better this tour, the worst was the stuff mick wore during the voodoo lounge tour...the skirt and the t-shirt with a magazine cut out on it? man, terrible

Depends, actually. For the Licks Tour, Mick got most of his clothes from Buddhist Punk, a UK based company. The designs were also comercially available, but the t-shirts Mick wore were specially tailored for him with a special fabric in order to catch the light instead of the regular cotton. For this tour, some of his clothes were made by the designer of the Boston Ballet Company.
See the providers at the end of the tour programme for each tour (Versace, DKNY, Adidas, etc.).
They would make so much money if they sold at rs.com replicas of their stage clothes. Think about football: aficionados buy replicas of the jerseys, not stuff made specially for them. I think people look stupid with those "fan" t-shirts.

Me too, but I think we look pretty stupid anyway. There ought to be a rug over the audience at Stones concerts.

Actually prefer Charlie when he's playing with his jazz band - playing the drums in a Saville Road suit - wow!! Give the man a hand! ;-)

I think i heard Prada mentioned at some point.

On another note - someone told me that even if you're a fan you should never wear any band t-shirts or apparel. I don't know why they told me that, anyone else ever heard that? I think it's bull

Trash & Vaudeville at St Marks Place in New York!
They got the same army jacket like Keith wore, or it´s very, very alike. I only buy clothes once a year, and that´s when Im at St Marks Place in september. Last year, I bought a really cool red jacket. And then I saw Ronnie wear exactly the same one, in one pic from Hollywood Bowl, just a little different pattern. But same style and zippers and pockets. And, in a pic of Hanoi Rocks, from the early 80´s, Nasty Suicide wears one too, so that´s cool to see:-) I think the guys visits the shop some times, and no wonder, cause the Trash clothes got style! Joey Ramone style pants and lots of cool jackets and accessoirs. But please, keep this a secret - don´t want the whole town to look like me, hehe. Just say hi to Jimmy, a very cool guy, if you drop by.

Well I like the RED Jacket mick wore on the BTB tour and if I can find out where it came from I will buy one.

Also loved the shirt Ronnie wore on the Licks tour sort of beige gold looks like silk but material seems too heavy for silk ,whatever material it was I would love to get my hands on it.
Loked great on the B Stage.

Unfortunately they are both too skinny and I would need a larger copy.

Keiths clothes are definately the most original and I can understand why he prefers his gear worn in a little.
Who likes breaking in new shoes/boots/trainers ??.

But...
The leapordskin coats etc
No thanks
Definately not for me.

Still love him what ever he wears : )))

"89 thru 2006 - Michael Jackson's garbage can" -elmo lewis

hahahaha, exactly!! but see they need to wear clothes that people can see from far away, to distinguish who, and where they are..mick wears the bright colorful stuff, or the pure black to stand out, and also arranges his clothes to fit the song and lights,

mick's clothes this tour are designed by a designer named hedi slimane... there was an article in the new yorker about this it think... tommy hilfiger did the b2b tour but he said no one wore anything of his except a zebra t-shirt by keith...

Oh, I miss the times when Anita Pallenberg chose the stage clothes (&others) for Keef nad thereby defined the rock star outlook... or when no one chose them; they just wear what they happened to have on at the moment... but that was in.. 1963? Nowadays they have 'nice' uniforms to perform anywhere, very conservative and Las Vegas as their set lists, no? But they are a pillar of the society, Sirs and everything. But they still look good. With all that money, they should.

Last some tips: Purple always suits for mr. Jagger. And green for mr. Richards. Suits suits for mr. Watts. Anything looks good on Ronnie.

Keith wears whatever he finds on the floor :E
and he's finding mighty nice stuff these days.
Ronnie's been wearing some very very cool stuff as well.

(the only tour i haven't dug what Keith was wearing was Licks - his shirts were getting in his way too much)
(and didn't i hear that the military-type jacket Keith wears belonged to Chuch?) (love & light to Chuch)

"What do you want - what?!"

I like Ronnie's red Multitalented-shirt very much. And I've been watching parts of the VL-tour dvd yesterday, Mick looked pretty well during Sympathy. Man, he redefined the looks of Lucifer. If I could buy the whole outfit somewhere... it would be a killer at a party ;-)
