Yeah - me too...except Gram didn't write it - someone called Boudleaux Bryant did. Who he? Anyone knows....

Wow..is that true...and Keef is such a fan of the Everly Brothers - always claimed he nicked some of his playing style from one or the other of the bros....it's all coming together ;-) I like that
The Nazareth version kicks all the way!!!Its very good.I had a Irish friend that saw Nazareth live..he never heard a band so heavy!!!I be honest he liked the Beatles more than The Stones...and way back than I played him San Diego 81 ..he told me Jagger was on snow!!!I did disagree...he s gone poor Brendan.
if you check out that Bryant link, you'll see he wrote a bunch of the Everly Brothers' hits. Keith's recorded a lot of them, in casual situations like the Longview Farm sessions and the so-called Honeymoon Tapes.

Used to hate the Nazareth version (though - to be honest - at the time I did not realize it was a "version" ....1974? Whatever did happen to Nazareth??) It was girlies stuff...maybe one should revisit...? ;-)
..and hey - did not one of the Everly Bros' offspring marry Axl Rose for about five seconds back in the 90's? And did The G'n'R not play with the Stones ...it's all coming together.....
Here is some other songs written by mr Byrant for Don and Phil Everly: All I have to do is dream Bird dog Bye bye love Devoted to you/ Ebony eyes/ Love hurts Take a message to Mary Wake up little Susie
Yeah...but they seemed to be rolling at one stage....and now..nothing? Hope they're not one of those bands just living off past "glory days" (Hmmmm..where did I put that Bruce album??)
