Not a good way to end a carreer. What do you think?

They should have gone out with a bang. They should havae made this tour their farewell tour, and I bet they would have sold out all these stadiums as this would have been the last time to see them. Now, it dies like a candle.

Firstly: When the $$$$$$$ get added up then no doubt Michael Cohl's accountants will have the final say as to how successful it was strictly in $$$$$$ terms.

Secondly: Who's to say this is the end of their career ?

Thirdly: If you personally are one of the unlucky bastards that lost out on all the shows you were planning on going to, then sure - perhaps it wasn't a particularly successful tour. But that would be from your personal viewpoint. Other people who were planning on going to shows that were unaffected by Keith's accident would no doubt have a different view.

Impossible question to answer, too many variables. Bottom line would have to be: Did this tour do it for YOU ?

Inspite of the fact that I lost out on Barcelona & Madrid, for me personally this tour will provide the best of my RS concert going experiences to date. You ?

a "farewell tour"? to sell out shows? well i am happy that at least they did not go as far as that in terms of "money greed machine". That shows that a at least they keep some kind of dignity and integrity. That is they're not eagles or who or queen...

Any self-respecting band that allows their management to call it a Farewell Tour has no respect. Mick will never allow it.

Whether this sells 100 million euros of tickets is not a good yardstick because ticket prices hardly compare to '82 or '90 or even '95. Number of fans that attend is the best indication. In that respect, the one million or so that attend these 21 shows will hardly measure up to previous tours. The press coverage will also be pretty lean.

If you are in a stadium of a 50.000 crowd..there are I think,2000 hardcore fans...30.000 so called normal fans that just buy the records...and go to one show...the rest is just crowd...their number maybe larger than I think...the locals are also in this group...some people just wanna see the Stones once in their life...fans bring their children and friends to the show so thats a part of the crowd to...but things seems to be different now..the main reason are the ticket prices..and the canceling..of shows...and there is not much promotion..but you cannot really say it now...whats left of the tour..I hope it will be a succes.

Respect? Dignity? Integrity? These words certainly do not apply to the Stones anno 2006. Cancelling half of the European tour because you earn a lot more money in the US, is that respectfull? The Stones hav no integrity anymore, it has become a totally greedy money machine, trying to squeeze the las dollars from the fans before they croak.

still a "farewell tour" would have been the acid icying on that crock of a cake you point at, and not something to hope for, imho at least

i dont know what you are talking about
they had to cancell the european shows because you cant play european
soccer stadiums in fall because of the floor

and in the U.S. they make a lot of money
its a game of money and music

so stop moaning europeans
its so useless
i read that most shows arent sold out so why should they have
played more on your continent? europe makes gets flushed down
the toilet and its your own fault

Maybe the reason that most of the european shows are not sold out is that the europeans don't buy each and every crap and are a bit more clever than the "WOW - THAT'S AMAAAAAAAAAZING - OH MY GOD - JUST GRRRREEAT - WONDERFUL" Americans. ;-) Just a thought.

er, no....they cancelled them because they cant be arsed coming back in 2007 - who said they HAD to rechedule them later in 2006?

Not that youre speaking from a position of self-interest or anything, of course. To suggest or imply that they would have lost money on European shows is ludicrous

maybe you should re-read a few facts. Many of the shows that were cancelled were sold out or were very close to it

>and its your own fault

yep..it sure is. We pushed Keith out of that tree and it was us who doubled the ticket prices too.

Change that to "four times as many" by the time this tour is over

compare it to Licks when both regions got much the same, and then try and grasp the concept of people feeling a bit shafted

I don't know whether this will be the least successful as it has not started yet. But The Stones should not be in the best mood . The german and austrian stadiums will be a tough challenge for them.

The tour will be shorter than intended for obvious reasons. It will thus not gross as much money as intended...for equally obvious reasons.

Other than that, how can you possibly say how successful or otherwise it is before it's even fcuking started !
