Help needed: Twickenham
Posted by: Doxa ()
Date: June 7, 2006 18:30

I have this problem: I am trying to buy tickets from Ticketmaster (Twickenham 2nd), but the ukticketmaster do not seem to accept my order because I don't live in Uk or Ireland. It's up to delivery system: you have to only option being a Briton costumer.

So, is there any way to pass this option, or are there any other ways to get those bloody tickets? I am just interested very cheap seats, the ones ticketmaster seems to offer (40£). I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks beforehand.

i had that same problem during the presales, and i phoned Ticketmaster -
they told me that if you choose Ireland as the country of delivery,
the form that then appears allows you to enter whatever your real country of residence is.
i didn't actually try this myself, but that's what was suggested.
if you feel better phoning them, a number that actual human beings eventually answer is:
++44 161 385 2111 (that's for people calling from outside the UK)
it says the lines are open monday - friday from 9 am to 8 pm and saturday/sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.
if you do phone them, it would be a service to humanity if you pointed out this error on the ticket-buying page and asked them to fix it ...

Thanks With sssoul! I suppose I use that Ireland-card; so according to the famous logic of Ticketmaster, "Ireland" is the short-name for "anything else but not UK". Clever...

Did you ordered the tickets by phone, then? No problems in that?

>> Did you ordered the tickets by phone, then? <<

i didn't personally, no - it was during a fanclub presale so they couldn't take phone orders.
i waited until they fixed the online thing so that people from Elsewhere could order.
by which time my beautiful tickets were gone, of course, but sooner or later it either
[a] all works out as it should, or i can't even feel the pain no more :E
hope you do all right with whatever angle you decide to tackle it from.

Okay, some after-thoughts. The Ireland trick didn't work out (because the country name was stuck in the credit card section - couldn't change it).

So I did phone, and finally even get through, and get my tickets ordered. Funny though - people who speak English at their home language has the option to order through web site, but foreigners who have funny accents and absolutely strange names and addresses - like us Finns - only can order tickets by phone... it took some bloody fifteen minutes to make the order... But it is done now, and all I need to do now is to sit on the queue with the rest of you folks and hope that some day those tickets will arrive by mail...

Long live the almighty Ticketmaster!

Doxa, may I ask what the tickets costed? 40 euro?
Isn't that the double of the original price? Is it good seats?

£40, not 40 Euro.

Thats the face value of the cheapest Uk tickets

Those cost £40 apiece, that is, 60 euros. Those are official prices I think. The seats are probably most horrible I ever have, somewhere very behind in upper level of stadium. I don't mind - that's the position suits me well at this stage of the game - I just wanna watch the circus from a distance. I don't expect any huge musical experiences anymore - they have given the satisfaction already in the past - I just wanna see my life-time idols one more time, and you know, just "be there".

Thanks for answering, Doxa and Gazza.
I want to be there too....but I'd like a to get a bit closer.
Perhaps they have other tickets as well, closer to the stage, I mean.
I was thinking about calling them.

have patience..between now and then, someone is bound to be selling some extras - otherwise pick one up off a ticket tout on the day. If its a single youre looking for, should be cheap enough

Erik - I owe you an e-mail. Will respond later this evening

I agree. Once they have straightened out all of the returns, and the transfers from Wembley, there should be very good seats available. I think that if you buy them on Ticketmaster, they will all be 150 pounds however (I think that the entire pitch, except for the front 10 rows, was 150 pounds).

I just reserved ticket to Glasgow, and still looking for good seats to both Twickenham shows. But I try to be patient ...

I don’t know how I live next winter, but this is as “once in lifetime”.

Now have to find cheap (but good hotel) from Glasgow and London.

If anything, the last two months have made me realize how this could be "once in a lifetime" or the "last time in a lifetime".

Just wanted to add, that I was thinking about £400....not 40£. Now, I'm relieved.

Yes, I saw that...but that's pretty far away from stage. I'm a pretty short guy, so it might be better with lower tier, than being in the back of the "floor"?

Re: Help needed: Twickenham

In other words...is lower tier a good choice...or E1 instead,
for those of you that have been to Twickenham, please?

Re: Help needed: Twickenham

you maybe right... but i was in the tiers (lower 1st show, middle 2nd)
for both Twickenham shows in '03 and the sound was lousy.

I'm buying lower tier in 2 minutes.....if somebody think it's stupid, please step forward.

I think youre stupid, anyway Erik - but its got nothing to do with this... ;-)

I wouldnt pay £150 for anything that isnt on the pitch or near the front, personally - how much are these tickets?

They're £165, Gazza. But it's allright, I'll rob some old ladies this evening.

I see there are £90 tickets for E4 on the pitch for the 2nd night. Probably a better bet than any of those £150 ones that are on offer
