I'm hoping some of you might be able to help me with a little problem I have...

A friend of mine bought 6 tickets, FOS, for Twickenham 1. This was way back in November when they were released. Myself and another 2 friends paid him for 3 of the tickets, by cheque, straight away. He has now decided to give us our money back so he can sell the tickets on eBay for a profit - the b*****d! This leaves myself and 2 friends without tickets for Twickenham 1, and there's none available in such great positions as we had.

Any advice???

This is a contract. So he has to deliver the tickets. There is no reason like an postponed or cancelled concert. Even if you don't have a contract which is written and signed. You need the receipt that you paid the money. We have some laws. I guess it's all over Europe the same thing. I would kill this b.... or take him to the court.

I cannot imagine ever doing that to My friend.


I would be tempted to bid on them & charge back after I received them.

But I don't have a receipt - i paid him and trusted him as a friend, so of course I didn't get a receipt. I don't think I can prove that I even paid him, unless my bank can get something. But even then, he bought the tickets off Ticketmaster and they are in his name, so I think I'm screwed.

Hey Greg, just a thought, but you might want to check out your other two friends as well. If they're on the up & up, then that gives you some leverage. If they're as pissed off as you, then all of you should confront this guy straight away.

Slash his tires and put sugar in his gas tank.

for some revenge, you could keep putting bogus bids on his ebay auctions so he gets pissed off and can't sell them!

if a 'friend' of mine did something like and leave me without tickets, I would quite honestly kick seven shades of shit out of him. I recommend you do likewise.

the fact that you clubbed together to pay for the tickets shoukd make them morally yours, although it would hardly be enforcable legally

sorry but that is very messed up... hope he gets stuck trying to sell them on ebay...

as soon as you gave him the cash, you should have taken the tickets but too late now ... or is it??? there are 3 of you and 1 of him...

FOS means "front of stage", Keefkid; and they couldn't take the tickets because Ticketmaster UK hasn't sent them out yet.
and i agree with everyone else on the thread: that's not a friend, that's ratscum.
if confronting him as a threesome doesn't help him see the light, then sabotaging his ebay sales is always an option.

Your not the first to lose a so called friend. Money in between nearly always causes problems. So save up your money and buy it from a tout. So you can see the show. This could be your last chance to see the Stones.

There is no FOS at Twickers!!!!

And in November Wembley was on and there was also no FOS.

All seated.

This story is very very hard to believe. You're "friend" must be a fortune teller to know in november that the show will be transfered to Twickers.

It's hard to feel sorry for you after such a fairy tale.

Did you ever heard about a serial called "The Sopranos"? Just watch a few episodes. I'm sure it will give you a few ideas about how you could get your tickets from your so called friend.

You paid him by check. The check's got his name on it. That's it! See a lawyer. Tell your friend (ex-friend I hope) that he'll have to deliver, or else you'll sue him. And not only for the price of the tickets, but for emotional stress, missing a concert, etc. Your lawyer will think of more. Believe me - you have a very strong case. And get a receit from your checking account. Just explain to your ex-friend what he's gotten into, and that the only way out of it is by fulfilling the contract. Good luck! See tou at Twicks!

When I wrote Twickenham FOS, I meant it as in how things stand now. Obviously, back then, I was expecting Wembley but that is no longer the case. My definition of FOS is in front of the stage. The tickets were for one of the front row of blocks of seating on the pitch... A2 I think but having no longer got the tickets I can't confirm that. And as for when he bought the tickets, November/December, I couldn't recall exactly but it was around that time.

I can ask my ex-friend about 'future tours' if you wish, but I wouldn't want to waste any more of my time talking to him.

Tickets went on sale at the start of December for that show. Regarding having 'no longer got the tickets', are you saying you actually had them personally? I dont think any have been printed or sent out yet.

Shidoobee's post makes a lot of sense. I'd like to think you had some comeback on this even though its a private arrangement. You made a financial transaction under the understanding he would give you these tickets.

I mean in the sense that I no longer have tickets for the gig, not in the sense of actually having the ticket itself in my hand. If Ticketmaster delivered tickets months ago like every other company, than maybe I would have had the ticket and would have been able to tell my ex-friend to go screw himself (possession being nine 10ths of the law)

As for legal action, I think I'd rather give my money to a tout and give nothing of mine to my ex-friend, in the hope that he'll lose out on ebay.
