I love Kenny Jones' drumming, but he's so unlike Charlie...Unfortunately Jones sublimated most of his own style when he joined the Who in '79....All my favorite rock drummers have unique and recognizeable styles that add to the character of the bands they're in - Jimmy Miller sort of comes close on 'Happy' with the slight lag, but good as Miller is it ain't CW...

whos the drummer for CCR? He soudns like charlie IMO.

Zigaboo Modeliste must be similar - Charlie picked him for the New Barbs....

Personally, I've always liked the way Mick Fleetwood swings...

The ONLY drummers that can be even considered in the same Universe as Charlie are:

1) Doug Clifford - Creedence Clearwater Revival
2) Jim Densmore - The Doors

I would have to be a jazz drummer because that was Charlie is...a jazz drummer in a versatile rock n' roll band...

I really can't think of ANY drummer like Charlie. I was thinking about this the other day. He's got such a unique way of hitting the snare, I don't know what it is, but it's that typical Stones sound, you know? Ofcourse, he's pretty much a jazz drummer, and I've heard him with his orchestra, and he does a great job there too. Sounds more at home. So I don't think anyone is compareable to Charlie.

My two choices would have been Bun E Carlos and Phil Rudd. I always think of Phil as a more harder rock version of Charlie. No solos, nothing special, just keeping the heavy beat.
